All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Coach Fired/Hired/Retired Thread

Columbia chimes in:

Go Gophers!!
Looking at Jim Engles' resume, he has been shockingly bad.

Through his first four years, his conference win % was 0.285 (CBJ is sitting at 0.278 for reference). Then COVID happened and the 2020/21 season was cancelled. After that, they chose to give him 4 MORE years. And shockingly, after doing so bad, he didn't get better, but got even worse! He proceeded to go 8-41 over the next four years in conference. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result?

It sounds like Arizona State is not planning to fire Bobby Hurley but also won't extend him. He would be coaching on the last year of his contract next season. I wonder if we will see more of this as schools will attempt to avoid paying a buyout. Hopefully this isn't what Coyle is planning.

There are very few long term recruits any more. Everyone is signing up for one year at a time. Why do coaches need to be extended to give the illusion of permanence in this atmosphere?

Just saw article stating Richard Pitino is a leading candidate for that job.
Could there be any bigger difference between he and Bennett? The fans must be screaming for faster pace of play. Richard would do pretty well there with the type of talent he could get. You gotta have speed to play the way he wants to. He could never get it here.

The Pack getting a quick jump to try and nail down Wade.

Better beat them to an offer, Coyle. Make it a "strong ass offer."

This is the guy. F the NCAA. Who cares? Nobody else does
