I'd say in retrospect we dodged a bullet by not hiring Smith, but unfortunately as we ducked we were hit by a larger, more lethal bullet.

We dodged a jab and are currently eating an uppercut.

Not gonna lie. I was a booster.

I mean, heck, I still am. I'm dumbfounded that things didn't work out better for him in SLC. His first couple seasons, there were some really impressive wins, and I figured they were on their way. He's an excellent tactition and teacher. Utah is a place that's had basketball success. It's not like sports always makes sense, but I don't get it.

Edit: Rumor is Andre Miller or Alex Jensen taking over with big NIL backing. I could see that working out for them.
