All Things 2023-2024 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

I hate to do this to you, but this minor piece of analysis from VSiN (the betting website) tells a different story.

"(Those who believe Rudy Gobert is at fault for the Timberwolves’ woes in this series might want to stop reading)

Gobert needs to see a minutes increase tonight, and he should probably match Jokic’s rotations. The Timberwolves’ center was a team-best +9 in the loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. With him on the floor in this series Minnesota has a +3.4 net rating and a 114.0 defensive rating.

The oft-desired Naz Reid sports a -17.5 net rating in his time on the floor in this series, and the Timberwolves allow 115.8 points per 100 possessions with him on the floor. He has the second-worst plus-minus in this series for Minnesota (-32), surpassed only by Nickeil Alexander-Walker (-49). It seemed that Chris Finch made note of Reid’s struggles on Sunday, as he did not see the floor for a minute in the fourth quarter.
Naz was invisible on defense. NAW did everything wrong. Rudy was awful. Towns was awful. So much suck.

I ain't touching this game tonight from a betting standpoint. No way. Can't make myself take one side or the other. Too tough to call

EDIT: From the Action Network, they like the following:

Wolves. (+4.5)
Over (205.5)
Jaden McDaniels Points + Assists. (10.5)

Frickin Degenerate 😉🤠

Gobert fined 75,000 for making the money sign (again).
That means Murray was essentially fined 25,000 for tossing two objects at referees.
Good job. Silver.

Not sure what your post actually is communicating as he had the same teammates for both games. Warren isn’t a better option than Anderson; there’s a reason he was available for a ten game contract towards the end of the season.
Not advocating for Warren at all. He shouldn't see the floor.

I was referencing the second game when Rudy was out.

Let’s hope Monte Morris can provide something tonight; will be interesting to see how often Ant initiates the O if Conley is out.

I oddly think we win tonight and have a better focus tonight,

Fun facts-
MN has never won a game 5, 0-5 all time.
Denver has won 12 straight Game 5 -at home, with their last loss in 1988.

I fear we are already mentally conquered:

MIN 89
DEN 114

Good posters in here. I learn more about wolves games here than any other national or local write ups.

Ed Malloy is tonight Ref for the Wolves/Nuggets. Wolves are screw.

2 fouls on Gordon early is gonna help the defense. It’s gonna make Murray take the ball up and initiate the offense. KAT is limping big time.

Solid first quarter - good focus and contributions from our others/role players.

Should be a close one

Malone gets T'd up. Quick, look outside! There might be flying monkeys!

That’s a big 50/50 call against the wolves. Could have been 3 on Gordon instead it’s 3 on Reid. Refs love making charge call on that play.

I honest to God would have liked to have seen Kat go full McHale on Gordon's Rambis there.

We just can't score......it's that simple.

They’ll get most of those calls at home as the defending champs, can’t keep just bull rushing to the rim, if they keep calling charges.

I'm convinced that Gobert only has six operable fingers.

11 turnovers in the second quarter. It's just mind numbing.

The defense is better, but it's not good enough. There are too many TOs as well.

The Wolves have a shot, but they need to protect the ball and tighten up the defense a little more in the 2nd half.

Jokic is too good. The Wolves can't even slow him down. That's why they're losing in 6 games.
