Wow was that a bad call on Celestine liner to first base
I agree I don’t mind him but just ponying out he’s been a revolving door guy and could have been claimed by any team several times this year. I trust him more then Duffey, smith, and Thornburg. Maybe even Thielbar.
Agreed, but it probably would have been two either way. Would like to see the ump call it not a catch and let the play play out vs ending the play by calling it a catch .Wow was that a bad call on Celestine liner to first base
Can’t hit a fastball I know let’s go off speed and speed up his bat so he can put it in play.
On the two run scoring hit the twins don’t hit the cut off man and just lob it home when there is no play. If the relay guy is hit the go ahead run is on first and not second meaning they can’t sacrifice him to third with one out where a sac fly scored him. Not saying it’s on Rocco, but the attention to detail rests with him and it needs to be addressed by sitting people when they make mistakes. Not saying the twins win that game with that play but it probably goes into extra’s.I want to know specifically who called for that pitch
I think he threw 30 pitches last night and Pagan only threw 17.Why no Duran?
I want to know if Jax is available why doesn’t he start the inning. It makes no sense. Pagan should not be going 2 innings after going 1 last night. Rocco continues to make bad decisions. Why no Duran?
Max threw 27 pitches last night just like Duran. You could have made the case that Duffy would have been a better option to start the 9th.I want to know if Jax is available why doesn’t he start the inning. It makes no sense. Either he’s available or he isn’t though. If they’re willing to put him in later in the inning instead of someone else, then he should have started the inning.Max threw 27 pitches last night just like Duran. You could have made the case that Duffy would have been a better option to start the 9th.

Even Thornburg would have been a better option.I would have given Duffy a chance in retrospect- at least he’s fresh
It looked like Miller thought he caught it and it had nothing to do with the ump’s call.Agreed, but it probably would have been two either way. Would like to see the ump call it not a catch and let the play play out vs ending the play by calling it a catch .
I agree the bigger problem is the 3-4 other bullpen spots that are filled with people Rocoo doesn’t want to, for good reason, use is close games. With 13 pitchers limited in the roster you cannot afford to have pitchers on the roster as bodies. If they can’t be used they should be gone. Will be interested to see if they DFA Cotton tomorrow again for a fresh arm as he has pitched in the last two games.Either he’s available or he isn’t though. If they’re willing to put him in later in the inning instead of someone else, then he should have started the inning.
They could call it as not a catch and just let Miller step on the base and make the throw to second. The fact that Miller looked at second as soon as he got the ball and that Jeffers didn’t stop running at all were two giveaways that the ball wasn’t caught. It looked like Miller thought he caught it and it had nothing to do with the ump’s call.
The worst thing about that play is the 1st base ump was probably in the worst position to make that call. He was completely blocked from seeing the ball.
There is one problem with that play. The problem is that it's not reviewable. They could call it as not a catch and just let Miller step on the base and make the throw to second. The fact that Miller looked at second as soon as he got the ball and that Jeffers didn’t stop running at all were two giveaways that the ball wasn’t caught.
Like I said the play is dead as soon as the UMP calls it a catch. Nothing can be done to remedy the play if he is wrong. If they call it trapped just let the play continue and turn two the old fashioned way. Then there is not problem.
Miller steps on 1st and throws to second where they tag out Jeffers. Play is over two outs are recorded and it doesn’t matter that they play can not be reviewed as there would be nothing to review. There is one problem with that play. The problem is that it's not reviewable.
The question is what is the call when they say it's trapped.
