All Things 2022 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Hmm. an owner deliberately puts a bad team on the field, in hopes of producing low attendance that will allow the team to move to a new market.

that would make a great plot for a movie.

you could have a crusty old manager, a catcher with bad knees, and a cocky rookie with a bad haircut. it practically writes itself.
I always thought Major League was derived from the A's, the Charlie Finley era, circa 1980. Yet they are still there. In the same dump.

Cinematically the pitch to the studio had to be "Slap Shot, except it's baseball". Boom. Green light.

Jobu approves.

The Athletic is saying no fracture for Correa! Not expected to be out an extended amount of time.

Straight from the Twins so that's good. If he's day to day, then Lewis may not be getting called up? Unless he's taking Arraez's spot while he deals with Covid?

Yes. This is really the best outcome. Lewis gets a chance and Correa isn't out for very long. Other than him not getting hurt in the first place of course.

So, Correa not going to the IL, but they are still bringing up Royce Lewis for a test-drive at SS.

as GII surmised above, Lewis takes the spot of Arreaz while Luis goes to Covid jail for a week.

this really is a best-case scenario.

Correa will not miss extended time, but the Twins still get to evaluate Lewis against major-league pitching.

Now, if they just weren't on the BSN back-up channel tonight. I get the main BSN in high-def, but the back-up channel is only available on standard def on my cable package. Once you watch sports in high-def, it's really hard to go back to the stone age.

Nice! Only in real life MLB has already came right out and said the A's should negotiate with Las Vegas. ;)

Broken finger is likely 4-6 weeks is my guess. Broke my middle finger on my throwing hand in 9th grade and that was about the timeline. Only way it could be worse is if its broken through a joint and requires surgery.
Hopefully we’ve made progress on treatment since then🤓

I bet Cave wears Da Foil. Call him back

No matter how much you get Buxton off his feet he gets banged up. There is a difference between injured and hurt, so we shall see how long this lasts.

I don’t think this is far fetched at all and wouldn’t be shocked if it’s true.
