You made me read it- here's the key excerpt for those that don't:
A significant increase in St. John’s games at MSG is expected if Pitino takes the job. Billionaire alum Mike Repole, the co-founder of Vitamin Water, told The Post on Saturday he would look to get involved again with the program if it hires Pitino and help with Name, Image and Likeness.

Why is it that our billionaires like Glen Taylor and the Pohlads are cheapskates (relatively)?
Taylor already has the Taylor center in Mankato 😉

Hockey fan. Plus most wealthy people want ROI. Social media is the best path for big big NIL deals. Those are few and far between. The smaller 10,000 type deals are worked out locally . Several programs are doing very well with players that have very small NIL deals.
I don't think he's a Gopher sports fan, I could be wrong. I know John Hammergren (former CEO of McKesson) is a Gopher alum and a big hockey guy, but I would be pretty surprised if the CEO of Moderna is a hockey fan. I don't know for sure, but I know a bit about him.

Quite a collection of coaches in the conference now.
Basketball is king conferences are not a bad idea. Great economically for the schools. Great play for the fans. The new Big East has surprised me at how consistently good they have been since the split with the football dominant schools.

Quite a collection of coaches in the Big East now. Shaka Smart, Sean Miller, McDermott, Hurley, Cooley, Thad Matta, Pitino.
Reminiscent of the Big Ten in the 80s with Knight, Keady, Henson, Heathcote, Frieder, Olson/Davis, Dutch/Clem, Miller/Williams.

What's going on here?

Maybe there weren’t other offers coming his way that he was interested in. The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know. He’s a name and has been okay but not great at ASU. Some demand but I bet not high demand.

Contracts mean nothing these days.....our women's program just signed a coach after she completed the 1st year of (i believe) a 5 year contract. If the big boys come calling, the buyout will mean nothing.

Having been an assistant at both Butler and Purdue as well HC at IU-South Bend, it would seem like a logical fit for Shrewsburry to go to Notre Dame. Also an Indianapolis native and played/alum of Hanover College.

Definitely would be a sort of homecoming.
Sometimes the most obvious answer is correct. I saw his name being mentioned with a few other candidates for the Irish and after checking his wiki page it seemed like a no brainer.

Thrashing Texas A&M and hanging with Texas didn't hurt his cause to get back to Indiana.

tough break for Penn State. thought they got themselves a good one.

Hes leaving along with a very senior heavy basketball team. Will be interesting to see who they target for a replacement.
They should go big and steal someone from within the conference.

Attendance issues at Penn State played a role, they average less that we do a game. They also play in the oversized BJC as well.
