Interesting. Would Georgetown be much of an upgrade at this point?
Georgetown is a formerly great program that hasn’t been great since Big John left, in a fertile recruiting area and playing in basketball-only conference and nowhere to go but up. Lots of potential there. Much more than Penn State, I’d say. And as Gopher in NYC said, probably a good deal more money too.

I presume that your remark that a Catholic school would be a good fit for Per Pitino was sarcasm or in jest.
Sarcasm for the hypocrisy often found in religions or jest because it is a hilarious statement considering Pitino had sex in a restaurant with a woman who approached him for "advice about her son's BB potential". And that was just the start of a long personal downhill slide for Pitino.
NYC is not the only one to suggest the idea that a Catholic school could be a perfect fit for Pitino. Without any shred of sarcasm or jest Tony Kornheiser said either St John's or Georgetown would be great landing spots. Repentance and forgiveness are what would make that possible, his words, not mine.

Why would Jans leave the SEC / P6 for Wichita State (a step down)… I know he was part of the coaching staff with Greg Marshall…but they also ran Marshall out of town.
Ran Marshall out of town is really polite to Marshall. He physically abused his players. I don’t think Jans will leave (Goodman said he wouldn’t on Twitter), but Wichita State is a really good job. They can easily do what Houston or Gonzaga are doing and compete in pretty much every facet (Money, Facilties, support, NIL, etc…) with all P6 programs. Sometimes being the best job in a mid major conference is better than the worst job in a P6.

If he moves, it will be a Midwest school, I think. Notre Dame maybe?
Having been an assistant at both Butler and Purdue as well HC at IU-South Bend, it would seem like a logical fit for Shrewsburry to go to Notre Dame. Also an Indianapolis native and played/alum of Hanover College.

Definitely would be a sort of homecoming.

Interesting, this does make sense, although he would be moving from one football school to another, where basketball is mostly an afterthought. And I imagine it’s harder to get kids into school at ND than it is at Penn State. I’m pretty confident he’s moving somewhere after PSU is eliminated, so where is the main question.
