Precipitous fall for the former boy wunder
He's now available. Craig Smith might also be re-available in the next couple years given current results and so-so returning talent. As I recall he's the guy everyone on this board wanted a couple years ago.

Perfect place for his redemption - Catholic school is a great fit and he loves NYC and can work his East Coast connections.
Agree but would call it more phase 2 of his redemption. He’s already been working it well at Iona (another NY Catholic school) and this just moves it up a notch.

Craig Smith seems to be doing pretty well. His team won 17 games and was .500 in the conference in only his second year.

Contrast that to, I dunno, Ben Johnson. Smith took over a slightly better team from 20-21 but has added to that teams win totals. Johnson has…not.

Buffalo chimes in:

Go Gophers!!

Really matters who you follow in the position. His predecessor was Nate Oats and Bobby Hurley for two years prior to that.

Whitesell's record really wasn't too bad for Buffalo's historical standards: 3 winning seasons out of 4 with a 20 and 19 win season.

Wow. Maybe the call we need to make is the guy/gal that does the hiring at Buffalo.

I presume that your remark that a Catholic school would be a good fit for Per Pitino was sarcasm or in jest.
Sarcasm for the hypocrisy often found in religions or jest because it is a hilarious statement considering Pitino had sex in a restaurant with a woman who approached him for "advice about her son's BB potential". And that was just the start of a long personal downhill slide for Pitino.

Humor is a sign of intelligence - methinks you may take your handle on an anonymous chat board a tad too seriously, or is that in jest as well Martin Luther?
