Maryland is first out of the gate:
Go Gophers!!
Go Gophers!!
Whiny McBalderwimp? It's the day Jim Souhan has been waiting for since 2010.Louisville chimes in:
Go Gophers!!
Jim recommends they hire Leslie Frazier....
I never liked Crean, but I almost feel sorry for him in this situation.Georgia chimes in with a solid Power 5 opening:
Go Gophers!!
Wonder if Scott Nagy will get a look here
Or Eric HendersonWonder if Scott Nagy will get a look here
It’s being reported that South Dakota has fired Todd Lee. I actually thought he did a pretty good job there, that’s a tough job always have SDSU and NDSU to contend with.

Crean was excellent as a TV analyst the one year he did it. Like really good. He should just stick to that from here on out.Crean is 55 years old and likely will get another head coaching job although maybe not at the P6 level for the next one.

Wonder if the 23 point loss to SDSU in the Summit semi was too much for some boosters? That one is surprising

Good insight. Also Craig Smith at Utah had a ton of turnover as a new coach, in addition to being a potential Gopher coach. They went 11-20, including 4-16 in the conference.Crean probably was the closest P6 coach to Ben when it came to the amount of production that needed to be replaced in the 2021 offseason. So, when we think of our season, we should remember that it could have been worse. Crean was a coach with oodles of high level major college head coaching experience who could point recruits to multiple points of high level success in his career. By my count, Crean coached teams sent 16 players to the NBA.
I think you're right...I think a lot of these guys and their egos thrive on being the center of attention and power, though. Which they don't get as TV analysts.Frankly, at this point in his life, that probably would be a better career option. I'm sure there are a lot more miserable college basketball coaches than miserable TV sports analysts.
