why does the live stats say hollins is starting over rodney??? not good. no way did rodney play worse then hollins is something going on or is it just an error?
 

Hollins and Trevor started over Rodney and Colton

I'd panic and assume Rodney ran over Maturi with his car or worse.;)
 

I mean, theres no reason why rodney shouldnt start, hopefully he plays, cause if not we may have 2 suspended players
 

Hollins looks pretty good so far

Maybe Tubby is just going to try different combinations.
Why do people assume that if Rodney doesn't start it must be a suspension? Nobody is saying that about Colt...
Chill out everyone. It's fun to have a roster where 10 guys can all contribute. It can't be easy to figure out how to put them together on the floor.
 


Oh for God's sake, this is the time to try different starting combos. Stop reading $hit into everything you do not agree with gang.
 


Hollins was playing because Siena was playing zone to force us into outside shots. It's tough to beat a zone with Hoffarber being the only shooter.

True, that's why I picked it. But no doubt he's survive and give the BB program the death penalty. To pay for the lost revenue, he'd sign Marc Trestman to a 20-year, $2 million contract to coach the football team. All assistants would have to be volunteers.
 




true, i was just worried rod was in trouble, hollins can play. hopefully that pushes rodney
 

I like Rodney just fine and hope he pushes himself to get into the starting lineup, but Hollins looks as cool as the other side of the pillow for a Frosh! I have no problem with him starting, plus he counteracts Siena's zone nicely w/ his range.
 

Williams and Iverson disciplined

Tubby said in the post game interview that Williams and Iverson didn't start for disciplinary reasons. But they did see plenty of playing time, and Mbawke and Hollins did an outstanding job as starters.

I didn't hear him say anyone by name. Maybe I missed it but he said something like, "we were disciplining a couple kids" etc. etc. That could mean Rodney and Iverson but not necessarily, especially since we know about Devoe.
 

Wow. I hadn't heard about any disciplinary issues with Williams and Iverson. Hollins did his job tonight and played pretty well. I also thought Chip did well with his limited minutes. Finally, Trevor deserved to start, had a rocky start but was a beast on the boards and played well.
 

With the minutes both Colton and Rodney logged I'd think that if there was a disciplinary issue, it was something like being 5 minutes late to a practice.
 

Pretty clear that Tubby intends to have a deep bench by conference time and will probably play lots of combos that will spark speculation of one sort or another here.

Minny simply wore Siena down in 2H with waves of fresh, big bodies crashing the boards. In contrast to 1H, most of their 2H 3s were short off the rim, usually a sign of tired legs.

To their credit, Siena's guards kept them within reach by taking it aggressively to the hole, an area where the Gopher frontcourt needs improvement.
 

First of all, it's than, not then.

Second, I would've gone with a different thread title. Perhaps "!!!!!!" or maybe "******". Or, to spice it up a little, you could've gone with "@@@@@@".

You're going to end up with everyone using 'then' intentionally just to goad you. It's a simple mistake that spell-check doesn't catch and no one else cares. It's a message board. Move on.

Do you not understand how misusing a homonym that even my 4-year-old understands (no exaggeration) makes one look like a simpleton?

I mean, how does a fully-functioning adult expect to be taken seriously as a poster if they can't utilize basic elementary spelling skills? And, conversely, if one doesn't expect to be taken seriously, then don't get upset when one's posts are dissected.

I know that when I see a post rife with spelling and grammatical errors, I pretty much discredit anything the poster has to say from there on out. Whether you want to believe it or not, proper use of communication is a sign of intelligence, and someone who can't use basic words properly either has a learning disability or is not very intelligent.

And, while I do realize that we are on an informal message board, misspelling basic words like "then/than" do not fall under the umbrella of "internet slang" or whatever moniker you wish to use.

Agreed. If someone has 1 or 2 obvious typos in a post that is a different story. I never use spell check, simply because I don't really care to spend the time, and since I am usually pretty good in the spelling department. Having a mom as an English teacher growing up helps.

However, when you don't use "their/they're," "then/than," or "your/you're" properly, like it or not it does reflect on the validity of what you're saying IMO. Your/You're is my pet peeve.

One of my favorites to laugh at is "loose" instead of "lose." I never knew that one could be butchered so often!

I love those. They're a great source of entertainment at my family's gatherings, because my late grandma always used to say things like that. I think my favorite was "throw dad down the stairs his boots."

I don't disagree that a post filled with errors loses credibility, I just think that your personal crusade over one particular error that is common is silly, as is disregarding everything someone says if they make it. Everyone has those one or two words they always spell incorrectly or mix up. When I use Firefox, it catches most errors as I type. Internet Explorer does not. I'm sure I make more errors when I use it. Either way, it's a message board and combing posts looking for errors rather then taking them at the face value intended by the poster is a waste of time, IMO.
