Gotta suck for Utah fans. I’m sure they assumed he was just retiring. A great hire for Michigan but also probably a short one. Willingham is 66.

Could be true.
Although Harbaugh was on thin ice in 2020 and wittingham has had 3+ losses in 18/20 non covid seasons as head coach.

For context Ohio state has had 3+ losses once since 2009

I’m curious to see what he does and assume he can put up 9-3 with regularity. I don’t think winning 10+ every year is a given or that easy even for Michigan.

I'm shocked he actually wanted the job. Maybe a good nest egg to retire on, if nothing else. Or maybe a three quarter's life crisis.

This all makes about as much sense as Wisconsin hiring Gary Andersen.
