PJ's two dream jobs open at the same time. If he's still here next year, he's ours forever...

PJ is far too goofy to get hired into one of these high profile jobs plus if the hiring A.D. or committee watched the games from this past year he’d have no shot. He’s ours as long as he chooses to be and Coyle is still in charge.

Not a knock on PJ at all but he would be a disaster at Notre Dame and it would be amazing to watch! In fact it would be worth losing him to them for that and the "Lou Holtz" comparisons by the Gopher fans :ROFLMAO:

I like PJ but he and Notre Dame are a match made in hell. I am pretty sure the Alumni would riot if he was the best they could get.

The fact of the matter is you have no idea how well Fleck could do with near limitless money to hire a coaching staff and players. He's done a lot here with scraps compared to the legacy schools and their deep pockets. And to your "high profile job" comment, Sherrone Moore wasn't some savant of football coaching with a storied acumen, he was a former tight ends coach who was promoted to Co-OC then HC on a team that leaned on defense and handing the ball off. Michigan likely shouldn't be looking for a splash hire, they need a fixer.

What we know Fleck can do is run a clean program and single handedly redirect it's internal culture in a positive direction. Depending on the fallout of the recent scandals in Michigan football, if their university is going to prioritize a total revamp of who and what they are from the inside out, you can't find a program manager who would be a better suited for the task than Fleck. It comes down to what Michigan's admin, AD, and alumnus($) decide.

I'd lean towards them being in total denial that they need to fix anything, but if they use some introspection, Fleck will likely be on a very short list of candidates.

Michigan needs a “fixer”, you say? I happen to know of one…

No chance. There are days where I do think you are Heather — and if so hello.

I don't see Notre Dame being interested in Fleck but I do see Michigan being interested.

I think Notre Dame would make a beeline for Clark Lea, or maybe Tommy Rees. There would also be some chance of a reunion with Brian Kelly.

And Freeman would have to leave ND, which I doubt he will do.

Very true. I think his offense tends conservative, but when he had Bateman, Johnson, and Autman-Bell, he didn't hesitate pushing the envelope. He'd land more consistent top-drawer talent at a helmet school and talent makes the coach as much as coaching elevates the talent.

I think his off-field style is what would make him a tougher sell for some fan bases.
