2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

I’m hearing that Michigan is going to wait DeBoer out because he’s the guy they want, and are having back channel talks with his agent. If he loses to IU on Jan 1 they can introduce him on Jan 2 and he can start hammering the portal. Even if they keep advancing, Michigan’s willing to take a one year hit to play the long game so they can get their guy for the next decade-plus. Stay tuned.

Just looked quick and seems this guy doesn't have a single tie to the state of Michigan, other than having been OC/QB coach at Eastern for a couple years about 10 years ago.

Why this guy?

(Granted, I'm rooting for him to beat IU :) )

He took Washington to the national championship game. He can coach.

And who cares if he doesn't have ties to the state of Michigan. That feels like a Minnesota "not one of us" excuse. Did that help Sherrone Moore, or Brady Hoke, or Gary Moeller compete for national championships?

He had no ties to the south as far as I know so the Bama job seems more an outlier. from the Midwest and coached Midwest and west

Same reason Bama hired him.

Michigan State putting together a good staff with all that booster money.
