Dodgers vs Yankees was a tough one in my household as a kid. My old man grew up in Brooklyn and was diehard Dodger Blue while the Yankees in no uncertain terms were The Evil Empire. I don't think he ever got over the O'Malley move to LA and eventually Chavez Ravine.

We would watch the games in '77, '78 & '81, but honestly he was always disgusted no matter the result, going back to Reggie's 3 bomb night.

Eventually I could relate, with the whole Norm Green North Stars to Dallas maneuver.
 


Never had on my bingo card a MLB Manager intentionally walking a batter to FACE Aaron Judge.

And, it worked.

I heard a story about Gibson that a reporter asked him about the first thing he saw after hitting that epic HR.

Gibson said it was all the red tail lights of fans sitting in their cars in the right field parking lot listening to the end of the game.

I've seen that too. There's one car in particular that looks like it slams on the brakes, heading away from right center.
 




I thought we'd see more slugfest type games. The starting pitching has been solid.

Watching the Gibson HR off Eck, I loved this graphic NBC showed before as he was stepping into the batters box:

That jinx is up there with Gary Anderson in the '98 NFC Championship.

Judge continues to whiff in the post season.

1-9 6 Ks thus far in WS going into game 3.

Career numbers .going to Game 3, .199 BA with a .740 OPS 🤦‍♂️
 



As fun as the Freddie Freeman bomb was in G1, it's playing out like 1988 where all the drama has since been sucked out of the Series.

Freeman now has 5 World Series games in a row (going back to 2021 with the Bravos), so that's interesting.

It's hard to root for the Dodgers tonight given that it would end the MLB season and I'm not a fan of a Bullpen game (especially post-season), but cheering for the Pinstripes is a no-go.
 

Looks like Yankees going with Cole on 3 days rest. Back to the 90's. Somewhere, Jack Morris is smiling.

Edit: my bad. Looks like Gil. Earlier today, MLB.com showed Cole.
