I think Alex is best 5a team. Unfortunately same section5A is pretty open this year. I'm not sure these teams are as good as last year. We shall see. Moorhead might be best team in 5A.

Conferences are really for all sports, not football. All other sports follow conference scheduling.with all of the conference shuffling, the move to District scheduling for football, and the emphasis on Sections for post-season play, it has become harder and harder to follow Conference races - and even to care about Conference races. Winning your Conference is nice, and you can put up a banner if you want to, but what really matters is doing well in the post-season.
this may be a minority opinion, but you could do away with conferences in all sports - just go to district or section scheduling, and I would be fine with that.
Mankato West lost quite a bit from last years team but still think it's them or Chanhassen coming out of section 2. Andover will be a tough test for them tonight.5A is pretty open this year. I'm not sure these teams are as good as last year. We shall see. Moorhead might be best team in 5A.
Sorry, they’re bleeding students to Byron, Stewartville, Kasson, and even Dover Eyota. City council and school board are dysfunctional. Raising taxes 20%. Maybe it’s growing pains. How so? You can't just toss that out there without explanation.

When I was living down there in the late 2010s, there was already discussion about a 4th high school in Rochester.
Also, I'm having a hard time believing that the Osseo board will approve the move of MG to the Lake.

The Edina clear victory over Eden Prairie was huge for both programs.2 weeks in and there are only 6 undefeated teams left in 6A.
6000 attendance at Edina's stadium. The Edina clear victory over Eden Prairie was huge for both programs.
In 6A, especially the Metro West, every week is a big game.Edina beat EP
Tonka beat Wayzata
Sorry for the likely ignorant comment here, but ..... why are these games being played in Week 2??
These feel like they should be saved for the last week of the season "rivalry week" or something like that? And then rematches as section finals?
Mason West to Myer Swinney is going to be an issue for a lot of teams this season .The Edina clear victory over Eden Prairie was huge for both programs.
Grants old school methods are being outdated with teams in 6A incorporating an effectively throwing the ball.Mason West to Myer Swinney is going to be an issue for a lot of teams this season .

With section play its rivalry week almost every game in 6AEdina beat EP

6a playoffs you can’t play someone from your section until the 3rd roundEdina beat EP

I was just discussing with someone that JCC could hang 70 on a couple of teams in their section.a few scores of note from SW MN:
4A: Marshall 33, Willmar 7
3A: Fairmont 41, Belle Plaine 13
-- Waseca 36, St. Peter 0
2A: Windom 21, St. James 20 (Windom throws TD pass with 1:46 left to get the win)
-- Jackson County Central 62, Worthington 7 (Roman Voss runs for 3TD, passes for 2 TD)
1A: Minneota 61, Yellow Medicine East 0
-- BOLD 70, Maccray 6
-- Springfield 28, Murray County Central 18 (Springfield comes from behind in 2nd half)
9-man: Hills-Beaver Creek 44, Renville County West 6
-- Mt Lake Area 38, Edgerton 14
(if JCC stays healthy, I don't see anyone giving them a test in the regular season.)
I don’t think it’s the largest. Many others host state tournament games, but I don’t know capacities. Thanks for the comments.
If anyone knows, does Edina have the biggest "on campus" stadium in the state? If not, no worries
EDIT: technically their stadium I think is at the middle school not the high school, that's fine, I just mean not a city owned stadium or some other organization's stadium (like the Viking practice field stadium for Eagan).
Yeah, Wayzata, Tonka, Prior Lake, White Bear and Stillwater are all big and can easily hold 6,000. There’s so many that don’t sit at those games tooI don’t think it’s the largest. Many others host state tournament games, but I don’t know capacities.
I am not sure if Rochester will need a 4th high school for awhile. I know they did a total remodel of John Marshall high school instead of building a new JM in northwest Rochester where all the growth is. I think it was because of the expense. They could still be paying for Century HS and the new middle school. When I was living down there in the late 2010s, there was already discussion about a 4th high school in Rochester.

Tonight Northfield downed arch rival Faribault 14-12 and brings back the Bertha Cannon Trophy home with them on the short journey up Hwy 3.
You wouldn't guess by the Final Score that there were 3 TDs in the last 4 minutes of the game including the Raiders game winner with 14 seconds left.
Ultimately, the Falcons botched snap on a punt in the 2nd Quarter which resulted in a Safety, was the margin of victory.
Back home where it belongs. One of the great HS trophies. Bertha the cannon and the rivalry between Faribault and Northfield. It is a cannon because the Cannon river flows through both cities.
