2024 Bowl Projections Tracker

Our over under is about 5 and we are projected in a bowl? Nice.

4.5 point underdogs in a game that may or may not happen in 3 months! Whomever made that line is a dink!

Go Gophers!!

Early indications are that Memphis could be a pretty good team again. They were 10-3 last season. That actually might be a pretty decent bowl assignment.

Per Sagarin, 4 of the last 6 Gopher opponents are bunched up together in the ratings. To make a decent bowl, the Gophs need to beat UCLA and make some hay against these matchup opponents. UCLA has one of the hardest schedules in the country so far, so they might be underrated. This is the part of the season last year where the Gophers fell apart. Here's hoping that major injuries, etc. (an et cetera being Rossi shopping other jobs and allowing the defense to crater) don't crop up.

I had to look up the FIrst Responder’s Bowl since I’m seeing so many projections. It used to be called Heart of Dallas bowl and was affiliated with the B1G. It’s now played at SMU and will be held on 1/3/25. B1G affiliation went away before the most recent contract an last year Texas St. beat Rice.

When it started, it was (briefly) called the Ticket City Bowl. Northwestern lost to Texas Tech (38-45) there on January 1, 2011. That day was infamous as perhaps the worst beat down of the Big Ten in bowl history. Alabama beat Mich St 49-7 in the Capital One Bowl, Miss State beat Michigan 52-14 in the Gator Bowl, Florida beat PSU 37-24 in the Outback Bowl, and TCU beat Bielema coached Wisconsin 21-19 in the Rose Bowl. 5 Big Ten losses on a single day!

Big Ten had some really bad bowl performances during that period of time. Two years earlier, the conference was 1-6 in bowls.

Palm and College Football News do not have the gophers projected to *any* Bowl.

Beat Mayland! That will help, a lot!
