2024-25 Wild Season

@TRF Guy, I was playing pond hockey all night. I was able to catch the last 15 minutes of the game and watched the entire post game and didn’t catch it - what happened to Faber? And when the F is Kaprizov going to return? It was supposed to be day-to-day.

I won't be unhappy if KK doesn't make the west coast back-to-back this weekend (SJS-VGK); I'm flying down 9 guys from MSP this weekend for Sunday's game at The Fortress, hoping they all go home unhappy.

In the words of the immortal Stuart Scott: KK's day-to-day, we're all day-to-day. In hockey, you just never know how long that means. If KK doesn't play Thursday at home against Colorado, I would be surprised if he made the trip out west?

I had my bantam practice so I just saw highlights. All I've heard on Faber is upper body. Nothing on Kaprizov

Tenna-B was just talking about Faber and still had no further information. He wasn't even sure when it happened. He said on his last shift out, maybe he got his arm twisted, but definitely not sure. Also mentioned he got hit pretty hard his 2nd to the last shift, maybe tried one more shift and then entered concussion protocol. All speculative though. Wild called up new dude from Iowa (guy we just traded for). That is bad news, IMO, on Faber front.

Also said Kaprizov still hasn't practiced, and neither has Spurgeon.

It's been "next man up" for the Wild all season with our injuries. He's still only 21, but I'm excited to at least see what Jiricek can bring to the table. I'm curious to see who they pair him with.

Me too. He better have an impact the next year or two. They gave up a lot.

For sure. If he's as good as NHL scouts believe he can be, our young D core future looks bright with Faber, Buium and Jiricek.

Hopefully, we also get at least one (1) of Kiviharju, Lambos and Pionk to blossom.

I have heard Kap is at least skating. I guess the positive is he will be rested up for second half of the season. Team gets Middleton back then Faber gets hurt. So damn frustrating

Jonas Brodin Injury: Won't play Thursday

Brodin has been ruled out for Thursday's home game against Colorado due to a lower-body injury, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Brodin was in the midst of a hot stretch recently, as he had recorded points in six of his last seven appearances, logging two goals, five assists, 17 blocked shots, six hits and a plus-3 rating while averaging 26:34 of ice time across that span. However, he's considered day-to-day due to a lower-body issue. Travis Dermott and David Jiricek will likely enter the lineup against the Avalanche since Brodin and Brock Faber (upper body) will be unavailable. Brodin's next opportunity to suit up will be on the road against San Jose on Saturday.

It never ends 😡

Avs in town tonight after getting embarrassed by the Blackhawks last night 3-1

Glad I missed that one. Ouch
I wasn’t so fortunate. Brought my pond hockey friend to his first ever Wild game (not a wealthy man). Oof.

Heard Hynes on the way home. He wasn’t too alarmed. I dunno. Gus has given up 10 goals in his last 5 periods. I think 4 or 5 of them tonight were over his glove side shoulder. We also had 4 SOG in the first period. We definitely had chances to score and their goaltender is apparently on a heater 7-0-1 over the last 8, I think I heard. But giving up 6 goals? Way too many.

Bummer right now

Team was really starting to right the ship after the little slide they went on

But the injuries(and to our best guys every time) just wont stop happening.

Shit ton of shots by San Josie- to be expected with top 3 D out - but Fleury stops all but one in a magnificent effort. Rossi & Boldy score and the game is iced by a nice forced turnover by Chisholm and a heads up (literally) 2/3 ice shot right in the heart of the empty net by Zucc, with the goalie skating to the bench.

Boys were gassed last night in their 4-1 loss to the Knights. Was not pretty

It was a most glorious game at The Fortress!! Although all my MN friends I brought down are going to go home unhappy.

In the first period, it definitely looked like two teams that had played the night before. Halfway through the second period, I told the buddy next to me that because the Wild had been traveling the VGK was home, the Wild would be tired in the 3rd. The last two periods were relentless attacks on Gus by Vegas.

No clue on why Jack Eichel didn't play for Vegas, I jokingly told the guys that Vegas felt bad for MN not having KK97 so they sat Eichel. It could have been uglier with Eichel on the ice.

I assume the early fight between Kolesar and Foligno was Vegas wanting to retaliate for Foligno taking out Ivan Barbashev last month in MSP; Barbashev just returned to the lineup from that game Saturday night after missing a month.
