I've watched a lot of Gopher hockey and this may be the biggest swing in performance overnight I can remember basically ever. Definitely top 5 and we'll see how they finish.

They happen and they happen all the time. Look back at the ‘02 and ‘03 seasons and you’ll see they’re littered with frustrating head scratching losses. I tuned out of the internet last night for obvious reasons, but this is an excellent post. Heck you don't even have to look further than BC losing last night to Merrimack. Heck Mankato who is supposed to be a good not great team lost to the #63 team in the country last night!

Thank you. Knee jerk reactions are rarely if ever sound. bonin is often a prisoner of the moment.

Also, I think it’s time we go with Souliere going forward. He clearly is better than Airey right now. Let’s ride with him.

He’s also plain wrong, the goaltending doesn’t suck. Souliere has been very good, 1.60 gaa and .938 save percentage. He’s a 25 year old veteran who led Penn State to the regional final the year before last. I don’t trust Airey and Motzko is giving him every opportunity to win the job but Bob isn’t stupid and will eventually go with Souliere I’m convinced of that.
 

Since the 2000s or so, most career points by three-year players:
Haula - 42-82-124 in 114GP
Snuggerud - 54-60-114 in 103GP
Taffe - 56-57-113 in 120GP
Pitlick - 47-61-108 in 112GP

Snuggy should pass Haula, so now matter how you spin it that is a very, very solid Gopher hockey career.
 




Can bonin or someone who knows the rules better than me fill me in - I thought in college hockey they changed the rule where if you score on a delayed penalty, like the gophers did on their second goal, you still get the power play? Obviously not but for some reason I thought that was the rule.
 


2 goals from the 4th line and 2 goals from Snuggerud just in the first period.

I didn't know that, either. It always struck me as odd to reward the team that committed the initial penalty. I wonder why they changed it back?
 


Coming from behind all the time won't work against good teams
 


Imagine how fun this team would be with a 4 or 5 star goalie recruit. 😕
 

I expected Wood to be much more of an elite goalscorer. Missed a wide open one to tie it.
 


Danny Nelson should be out of the game. Two cheap shots in on sequence. If guys are tossed for minor elbows to the head then this cross check to the head has to be 5.
 



Chesley is gonna skate the puck out of the zone and is being dragged down with no f’ing call. What a joke.
