Just keep losing faceoffs.
Motzko is a pro at that, regardless of trophyWell that is one way to blow a trophy.
Twolves outscored 11-0 to start 3rd quarter. I was just thinking how horrendous this week has been for Minny sports, Girls CBB, Boys CBB, Twolves (though they won Monday in amazing way) Wild starting to stink up the NHL, Gopher Men.... Why, living out in CA since '97 do I still remain loyal to Minnesota teams... why??Guess I can always watch the Wild win tonight.....oops. I'll have to settle for the TWolves. Hopefully they don't pull off another Minnesota L-L-L trifecta TV night for me. Why are we cursed for all Minnesota teams?!
Is Motzko our new millennium Doug Woog?Motzko is a pro at that, regardless of trophy
Woog loved the program so will always be ahead of Motzko until he (probably never) wins a title. The ozempic is working dang well thoughIs Motzko out new millennium Doug Woog?
Jeezus fu*ck. The spineless Coyle can't figure out how to fire Ben Johnson. How the hell will he get rid of Motzko?Ok, let's really piss some of these folks off on the board with talk about who do we bring in to replace Motzko?? He's 63, the game seems to have passed him by (IMHO, put the knives away guys) and recruiting from the 'state of hockey' for the Gophers is not as 'golden' as it once was, not even close in fact. Who do we turn to? Of course Bob can complete the year and maybe he can win his first, though very doubtful, but after this year, do we go in a new direction and if so, who would be the man to turn to?
Unfortunately the Gopher coaching pipeline is pathetic.Ok, let's really piss some of these folks off on the board with talk about who do we bring in to replace Motzko?? Totally different. No one will make Gopher basketball relevant.Jeezus fu*ck. The spineless Coyle can't figure out how to fire Ben Johnson. How the hell will he get rid of Motzko?
Ben Barr, I like that, East Coast and Midwest roots... that would work recruiting wise I think!Unfortunately the Gopher coaching pipeline is pathetic.
Gordon = No
Potulny = No
Raboin = Meh
Miller = No
Throw millions at Ben Barr.
AND... Gopher Hockey is legendary (Basketball not even close) and NOT living up to that reputation for quite some time!Totally different. No one will make Gopher basketball relevant.
The next Gopher coach has not been this obvious for decades.Ben Barr, I like that, East Coast and Midwest roots... that would work recruiting wise I think!

Legendary is in the eye of the beholder. Much like Nebraska football. The old-timers remember the "glory years". But you have a generation of young fans that haven't witnessed a national championship, and can only hear about them from dads and uncles pining for the good old days.Ben Barr, I like that, East Coast and Midwest roots... that would work recruiting wise I think!

That OT period was not good. It's obviously a puck possession game. Once we did get possession (after a lost faceoff of course), we tried at least twice, maybe three times, to dangle through three opposing jerseys. Result? Quick turnover and a rush in the other direction. I'm not sure why we insist on doing that. I'm usually pretty positive, but that was so frustrating to watch. Plus my favorite local high school team got eliminated in section finals this week. I'm cranky.Just keep losing faceoffs.
Wood's game is not pretty or graceful, but he is playing at a PPG pace and is a good puck possession guy. I wouldn't say he has exceeded expectations but I wouldn't say he's well short either.What am I to make of Wood this year? I was expecting more, but maybe it’s there and I am just missing it.
Yep I agree he’s been a meet expectations guy. Wish just once he’d play more physical. To me that’s his only shot at sticking at the next level is to be a power forward type guyWood's game is not pretty or graceful, but he is playing at a PPG pace and is a good puck possession guy. Probably? Purely because he would’ve helped our PK. It wasn’t a one or the other situation.Pitlick could have contributed more
I didn't think you could go any lower, but making fun of Bob's weight loss shows what kind of person you really are.Woog loved the program so will always be ahead of Motzko until he (probably never) wins a title. The ozempic is working dang well though
It is starting to look that way.Is Motzko our new millennium Doug Woog?
Time to fire MotzkoThe Gophers have 4 regulation losses this season which is the fewest in college hockey.
