2021 Other Bowl Games Thread

We did not beat anyone that was very good. I think we were a top 25 ish team that blew it.
If you simply didn't choke against BG and Illinois, when your defense kept them to 14, you'd have finished 10-2. If your offense hadn't forgotten how the forward pass works and still had something semi-effective, you'd have had a good chance at an 11-1 regular season and Rose Bowl.

I understand Minnesota fans are pessimists, but you guys had the workings of a really good team and your hyper-conservative offensive and some injuries cost you another 2019 type season.

When it rains, it pours

We have to beat Bowling Green and Illinois first. Not to mention a Ohio State team that lost to Oregon and did not even win their division. Georgia and Alabama are clearly the best two teams.
Yes, not to mention that lowly OSU team 🤨

If is a word i was coached to believe is for losers. We had a decent year. Greatness is rare and difficult. We need a whole load of great players to be elite.

Georgia is making Michigan look like the jv team. I expected a closer game.

A lot of stupid turnovers by the Wolverines.

Had a couple chances to get back in it. But Mich can't stop turning the ball over.

Teams with greater players have a way of forcing mistakes.

If I’m looking at defense in the draft, there is no way I’m taking Hutchinson over Anderson from Bama.

A lot of room between the ohio state team i mentioned and lowly OSU. They were better last year and got destroyed by Alabama.
Putting a loss to OSU in the same conversation as losses to Bowling Green and Illinois is laughable.

Fair enough. You seemed like you should have been better than you were. The parts did not equal the actual product on the field.

Lotta ball left. Bennet is not an elite QB as shown in the SEC Championship - he’s good for one pick today
Edit - but that was a nice throw to Cook.
Michigan totally outcoached today. And with them having superior talent across the field Michigan was going to have to outcoach Georgia to have a chance

This might actually help the expansion argument...maybe OSU or Notre Dame would've done better vs Bama/Georgia...

We will never know. Which sucks. I'm all for the expansion. Hopefully doesn't mean more blood from Bama and helps create some upsets

What does that even mean?
I believe you'd said something to the effect of Minnesota would be playing Georgia better than Michigan was. I agree. I said you couldn't be doing worse (than Michigan).

I'm not really sure how it wasn't clear?

Disagree, if you mean expanding to more than 8. tOSU got their shit pushed in by Michigan. Cincy beat ND, who will be exposed by Okie state tomorrow.

Yeah or maybe not this year

but maybe with expansion the talent flows to 30 schools instead of 4-5 schools

You just never know. Texas A&M managed to beat Bama. And they're not all that good.

5 P5 winners + next 3 highest ranked in the CFP rankings. No more than 2 from any conference. If you did not win your conference, you are excluded (default playoff game)

These were terrible games. Please don’t expand this garbage.

I was actually excited that someone other than OSU was representing the Big10 in the CFP. Boy was that a mistake. Michigan has been embarrassingly bad on the field and has shown pathetic effort. Jimbo has some splaining to do. Maybe he can fix things off season at one of his sleepovers .

Michigan is living up to the Bo Schembechler standard for post season performances.

I pretty much blew through the DVR version of the first game because I expected an Alabama win, but this game really started to get me in a sour mood. F'ing Michigan! I wanted to see an entertaining game. What a bunch of clowns.

I am not sure how Harbaugh got it done at Stanford, but he sure forgot it all at Michigan.
