2021 Other Bowl Games Thread

He wasn’t down,His progress was stopped. They should have been called for aiding the runner, because you can’t pull a guy forward you can only push from behind.
Glad Purdue won as it makes the SEC look terrible.

Sucks that Purdue didn't just get him down....so there was no question. But you're right. He was stopped and the ref ruled it dead.

MSU gonna make the BG10 4-0...unless their defense once again forgets how to play.

Fadgers will (unfortunately) monkey stomp ASU tonight to make it 5-0.
No, MSU without Kenneth Walker III is just another middling tier team. Jordan Addison, the Biletnikoff Award winner running back for Pitt is going to give MSU a punishment.

Big Mo has turned its ugly head. Pitt 14-10 over MSU.

I had no idea former Gopher Tim Salem is one of the coaches for Pitt.

He was stopped for a split second and I think the ref was trying to blow his whistle. By the time he blew the whistle the RB reached the ball out. Not sure how that rule works in football. I know in hockey they go by when the ref intended to blow the whistle and not when it's actually blown but no idea about football.
That's sort of what I figured. I can understand the ref thinking he was stopped enough, blow the whistle, but he keeps going and gets it. It's one of those hindsight bad calls.

Odd cuz Braelon Allen got to keep going…… worst call of the year in the cfb until this one.

Scoop and score for Pitt.

MSU is messing this one up with no running game and their horrific pass defense.

Hopefully the Gophers can beat this team next year with Payton Thorne as a junior.

MSU is looking like trash.
MSU is a paper tiger. My suspicion is that Tucker turned a bunch of transfers in one successful year into an almost $100 million boondoggle. I was preaching caution when the deal was reported and a bunch of people flamed, like he was the second coming of Saban. Maybe he’ll be good, but there is also a decent chance he becomes an iron weight killing that athletic program.

Pitt is on their 3rd string QB, and there is no reason MSU shouldn’t be dominating.

Agree

Wow. Can't believe I'm sticking up for Tennessee....but they got jobbed there.
I agree as you don’t have a quick whistle on that play - let it play out. Additionally, the TN player who tried to help him over did so After he crossed the goal line, so that action is irrelevant

Not sure I agree with that. My eyes saw him pulling for a while b4 whistle. Have to see again.

No I'm with you 100%. Screw the SEC. I was peeping the Tennessee board during bowl selection time and they were maddeningly arrogant pretty much saying any game below the Outback was beneath them and the Vols would roll the likes of MN and Purdue. Turns out Purdue minus two first round draft picks was still a little too much for them. Maybe 7-5 PSU in the Outback would've been a better matchup 😂

Well, you could see their arrogance in overtime. Their guys were laughing like they had this. Fleck would have kicked a field goal there but they were so sure they'd get a touchdown that I don't think they even thought about it.

Tucker had a flash in the pan season. MSU should have waited 3 more years before giving him that extension. 2 at least

Pitt has a nice team. They play well in all facets. Fun to watch a well rounded club

Thorne looks God awful for MSU. Every pass is off by a little or a lot.

Thorne is f**king trash. Guys like these make me wonder why Gopher fans are so critical of TM. TM is one of the better QBs in the Big Ten.

Am I the only one that thought his progress clearly stopped there?
Nope, I agree 100%. Once the official rules forward progress was stopped, which it was, that’s it. That’s the spot the ball is at. His forward progress was clearly stopped, he reached out after he was stopped.

Yep. Need a few years of continued excellence b4 you do something like that. I'm on record as saying he is gone within 5 years.

LOL! MSU renewed his contract too soon! Add that to the $500 million Larry Nasser lawsuit payout settlement and MSU has to be on a diet for a long time.

Replay clearly shows he was dragging him forward before the ball was extended across the goal line.

MSU did the right thing in keeping Tucker.

I also think this may be a peak year for Tucker.

Both can be true.

Yuck, cover zero on fourth down and goal, Purdue has a bad defensive coordinator. Now we get to hear Rocky Top for the 30th time, I would like to see the Gophers play Tennessee and beat the pants off of them. Play some defense.
Yeah that was straight up dumb

4th and goal from the 12? Let’s make it a 50/50 play on if their wideout can beat a jam

I don’t think they needed that kind of money to keep tucker. Which is why it may not be smart. But I agree generally. And it’s not my money or the university’s so who cares

Michigan state beat Michigan this year. They were dominated in the game

their second Best win this year was 7-5 Penn state.
The big ten east is SOFT outside Ohio state and Michigan
