That 4 point play call was absolutely awful. The shooter didn't even get touched.

He did get touched actually. Whether it should have been called is the question.

In the past 13 seasons now, Duke has lost in the round of 64 just as many times as they have made it past the Sweet 16 (three times each). For how much love they get, you'd think they'd perform a little better.

Yeah, I think it is remarkable how Duke, with the hordes of McDonald's All-Americans that Coach K has brought in there, and all of the high seeds they have had, has only one Final Four within the past 10 tournaments. And as you mentioned they have been increasingly unsuccessful at even making it out of the opening weekend.

I was thinking the same but wasn't sure on the numbers. It is becoming a trend.

Now's the time for the Big Ten's big boys to stand up and be counted. The three elite teams for this season all are still playing. All three need to march on to the Sweet 16 today, unless you're inclined to cheer against the Badgers, which is allowed here.

Noteworthy
ACC vs. Atlantic 10 (re: Coach K calling out A-10) = A-10 leads 1-0. Today we have Dayton vs. Syracuse.

Big Ten vs. Big XII (re: generally regarded as season's best 2 conferences) = Big XII leads 1-0 after Baylor's thumping of Nebraska. The Big Ten tries to even the ledger with Michigan vs. Texas today.

I think it would have been called at any other point in the game, and if so, the fact that it was with a few seconds left should not change the call. Thought that was good officiating, and a definite shooting foul.

Still have to examine the video, but the real error was VCU's, even having a player close to the shooter in a situation like that.

That was exactly I said to the people I was watching with. Why on earth would you jump at a jump shooter when the only way they tie the game is a four point play?
 

I still don't get why there are only two games on Sat afternoon. Then jam the remaining 6 all in the evening.

I don't like it, therefore they should change it.
 

Say, I was just going to call flowers.com to send a sympathy bouquet to Coach K; anyone have his address? TIA
