10-2 - tell me I’m wrong

After watching the first game, yeah I think the win prediction is high.
There are some clear issues that you can see from the first game.
The blocking was not great. We are clearly missing the players that graduated.
Lindsey is going to be an excellent QB, but he makes some real risky passes that will not work once you start playing Big 10 games. His playmaking in the red zone also seemed to stall. That being said, he has a ton of skill and hopefully will grow and learn.
WR's/TE had way too many dropped easy passes in the game. They are young and hopefully will learn as well.
Defense, I liked the pass and run rushing ability. The LB's and Secondary had some miscues. Nestor shined the most in coverage.
I expected a little better of a game against Buffalo. Glad we won, but there is a ton of improvement needed prior to hitting Big ten Games.
If none of this gets better, yes, 10 wins is not happening. What are the odds of that? Also, I don't agree on Lindsey throwing risky passes.

Alli can see is 10-2. Every year they start slow, we get nervous and then they get better and better. This year will be no different, and they have a ramp up schedule to help the cause. 3 games until Ohio State...which is most likely a loss, after that is when they hit all the rivalry games and a bye week before Oregon. You can ask for a better schedule. 10-2...leave no doubt.

I don’t think they started that slow.
Had to watch the game late and had the benefit of watching with the final score known. I’m sure it felt close and in doubt the whole way live…..
Buffalo is a mac championship game participant with 9 starters back on defense

Gophers out gained them 443 to 151
Gophers had 27 first downs they had 8
Gophers had a bad bounce InT that was at least a 6 point swing
Gophers held the ball the last 9 minutes of the game

if the final score was 30-7 no one says they started slow…and this game was two plays away from that

Need to win at Cal and then Rutgers at home. Purdue didn’t look terrible today. Northwestern did. Nebraska didn’t look great but never a gimme. Think it comes down if they can score enough at Iowa. Winning at Ohio St or Oregonis not likely. Wish had one of those games at home.

Northwestern (at least under Fitz) always seems to get better as the year goes on. And we play them at the end of the year. But they did look terrible.

Truth. People are stuck looking at the final score rather than the fact that the Gophers were in control throughout the game. And Buffalo's defense is really solid.
