10-2 - tell me I’m wrong

After watching the first game, yeah I think the win prediction is high.
There are some clear issues that you can see from the first game.
The blocking was not great. We are clearly missing the players that graduated.
Lindsey is going to be an excellent QB, but he makes some real risky passes that will not work once you start playing Big 10 games. His playmaking in the red zone also seemed to stall. That being said, he has a ton of skill and hopefully will grow and learn.
WR's/TE had way too many dropped easy passes in the game. They are young and hopefully will learn as well.
Defense, I liked the pass and run rushing ability. The LB's and Secondary had some miscues. Nestor shined the most in coverage.
I expected a little better of a game against Buffalo. Glad we won, but there is a ton of improvement needed prior to hitting Big ten Games.
If none of this gets better, yes, 10 wins is not happening. What are the odds of that? Also, I don't agree on Lindsey throwing risky passes.

Alli can see is 10-2. Every year they start slow, we get nervous and then they get better and better. This year will be no different, and they have a ramp up schedule to help the cause. 3 games until Ohio State...which is most likely a loss, after that is when they hit all the rivalry games and a bye week before Oregon. You can ask for a better schedule. 10-2...leave no doubt.

I don’t think they started that slow.
Had to watch the game late and had the benefit of watching with the final score known. I’m sure it felt close and in doubt the whole way live…..
Buffalo is a mac championship game participant with 9 starters back on defense

Gophers out gained them 443 to 151
Gophers had 27 first downs they had 8
Gophers had a bad bounce InT that was at least a 6 point swing
Gophers held the ball the last 9 minutes of the game

if the final score was 30-7 no one says they started slow…and this game was two plays away from that

Need to win at Cal and then Rutgers at home. Purdue didn’t look terrible today. Northwestern did. Nebraska didn’t look great but never a gimme. Think it comes down if they can score enough at Iowa. Winning at Ohio St or Oregonis not likely. Wish had one of those games at home.

Northwestern (at least under Fitz) always seems to get better as the year goes on. And we play them at the end of the year. But they did look terrible.

Truth. People are stuck looking at the final score rather than the fact that the Gophers were in control throughout the game. And Buffalo's defense is really solid.

Buffalo - Lance Leopold ain’t walking through that door.
1-0 and probably by 3 scores

Northwestern state- maybe better than northwestern but awful.
2-0 and by at least 3 scores

@Cal - sneaky sneaky but 3-0 by 10 points on the road

Rutgers - Revenge game at home against Athan K coming off a bye week?
14 points at home - 4-0

@ohio state - too rich for my blood
Loss by 10 that feels like more than 10
4-1

Purdue - get right by playing the worst power 5 team. 5-1

Nebraska - Friday night lights.
The steak continues by 7.
6-1 in a gritty game. I will be intoxicated

@iowa - gophers 2-0 in Iowa city when im not there since 1995 and im not going to be there. You are welcome. 7-1

Michigan state is just below average.
Gophers by 14
8-1

@oregon with a bye week. This would be a good game to go to. If the gophers jump into the playoffs it’s because they beat Nebraska, Iowa, Oregon back to back to back. Oregon doesn’t have a QB. It’s the first time their coach is with his whole team nobody from previous regime.
Oregon by 20
8-2

Northwestern in Chicago. Revenge game from the worst game of the fleck era (IMO) two years ago. 9-2

@wisconsin. I predict vs interim coach. I predict vs interim team.
Gophers by 100000
10-2

Tell me I’m wrong
I’ll tell you you’re wrong. Weak OL and not a great WR core.

I think they could win 8, but not 10. I’d be willing to give you odds and say if they win 10 I’ll stop posting for 60 days and if they win less than 10 you don’t post for 20 days. So 3-1 odds or so…

Lindsey looked good. Defensive line looked good. Taylor is a stud. Rest of team is mid IMO. They could improve but I think 8 wins is much more realistic.

The te could just catch the ball. Receiver assessment is correct. Least put Coleman out there…can’t teach 6’5”. Perhaps Smith from Mankato could just keep it going. Brockington has never had three catches in any game so that’s a problem with how many plays he gets. Where is Hayes? A bunch of slot receivers from the upperclassman right now.

Agree. But he didn’t . If ifs and buts were candy and nuts every day would be Christmas. Didn’t make the plays on some occasions. Still a win though.

If they win 10 you should NOT stop posting
Have a good time

I think 8 wins is the floor. If 10 wins happen I think they have to pull the upset at OS or Oregon. Iowa looks like if you stop their running attack you beat them easy. Wisconsin I have to see more but not impressed so far. I think after watching other teams in week one and watching Drake 10 wins still on the table. Other teams on the schedule did not show much.

Wrong is a little strong. I like the optimism but 8-4 would be a huge success. I see 7-5 despite a new untested QB. This is a season where 6-6 would not shock. Very young team.
I had to see the Buffalo game to get a feel for this team. After the game I have to say that 10-2 shouldn't be out of the realm of (2019) possibilities. It would make for a fantastic season and bump recruiting up.

10 wins no way. 8 a dream,7 most likely.
Jack have you seen the schedule? We should be favorites in 9 of the 12 games. Obviously OS and Oregon no also Iowa with the game in Iowa. Only other game might be Nebraska but with that game at Minnesota I think at is a pick-em game. So maybe we lose two games that we are favorites in but that would be a disappointing season. 8 wins is not a dream more like realalistic. And some of us might even be delusional!
