No way should Garcia come off the bench, he’s our most skilled offensive player, he rebounds and plays really hard, works hard. I would like to think that can be infectious. Absolutely needs 30+ minutes a game.
I wouldn’t say soft, he’s very skilled and his game is more finesse than the much over-used “gritty”, but he plays hard. Tougher than I thought coming in. He’s got a big load to carry this season.
Carrington’s ability to rebound is a huge plus for this team. We are a statistically poor defensive rebounding team and he has really helped. Smallish sample size but I say he has a nose for the ball and gets some tough, in traffic boards as well as those missed 3 long caroms. Love to see him 37...
And as the game progresses and subs rotate in, either Battle or Garcia need to be in the game. Unless it’s a horrible foul situation one of those two have to be in the game. To keep on topic, yes, start Payne.
He will be well scouted and likely will struggle, and sometimes surprise, just like any number of freshmen guards in the league. This is not earth shattering data. I’m rooting for the kid, are you?
11 games into his freshman year, coming off a 20 point game, 4 rebounds, 4-7 from 3, 6-6 free throws and you’re gonna give him the wet blanket shtick? OK…
Ten games into his freshman year and you are struggling to see if he will EVER contribute/bring something to the table? Honestly? Ever? And this is coming off a 10 rebound game. It helps to have just a little perspective.
I’m staying in San Clamente across the street from the pier, great area. It’s about 15 minutes from here to the gym. Unlike many here, I can’t complain.
