No disrespect intended for Doogie or Joe

or any posters here, but it seems to me that much of the info and name droppings that are happening in the coaching search, whether by Maturi or the search firm that has been hired is nothing more then simply doing due diligence in gathering info and gauging interest on various candidates...

    Just an opinion

I have read a lot of the posts concerning Brewster and almost all seem to agree it is a done deal that he is gone at some point this year, whether at the end of the season or sometime during. But I got this gnawing feeling that this Saturday's game against Wisconsin is pivotal. I think that if...

I have a hunch Maturi will

have a very difficult time either not firing him or not asking for his resignation. The very last thing he or the U wants right now is a brand new empty stadium. How many Gopher fans want to endure what will happen during the BT schedule when the Gophers were basically manhandled by USD and NIU?

I have never been on the fire Brew bandwagon

and even with things the way they are, I thought he would get to the end of the season, but after tonight I have a hunch he is going to have a tough time making it through the entire season. I am just not sure how much more humiliation the U can handle.

Not trying to be negative, but I got a nasty feeling

how the Gopher play tomorrow may affect one or two of those who have already committed.

Though the Gophers figured out a way

to have a humiliating win, can you imagine what USC feels like after what Stanford did to them in the 4th quarter today? Stanford slaughtered USC. That ain't suppose to happen.

What is incredible is that the offense

did not score one TD today. Unreal.

For those who visit the Vikings Scout Site

Did you notice that there are no "fire Childress" threads right now, even though they have been pretty regular Childress's first 3 years.

There is something to hope for

following this loss, Brew almost always seems to get a solid commit, even after games they were trounced in. I wonder who it will be this week?

Though I know one of the reasons

people are going to give is time of possession, but if the Gophers could figure out how to stop them on 3rd down, the defense might not be in the game quite so long.

So...I have to ask the question no one has

    asked yet...any commits yet?:);)

Did anyone notice if Hayo got any plays

I did not get to see the second half yet (dvr), but over the net I did not notice his name coming up at all.

Since some here are bashing others for trying

to be positive about the loss, let me just outline a few points 1. Given the way Cal started the game with 2 tds on the first 2 possessions, it would have been real easy for the Gophers to collapse and have a runaway game. 2. The Gophers came back to tie the game. 3. The defense, though not...

The Gophers Def and ST can hold their heads up

they played respectable against a pretty top notched offense. For all you that are against Cosgrove, he has done a pretty descent job.

At least the Gophers tied it and

made a game of it. It maybe could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse as well.

The expressed difficulties with the stadium

(noise, gates, registers...) for the most part are legitimate issues which can be addressed to everyone's satisfaction, and should be, but the part that is kind of annoying is that the Gophers finally have something that everyone can be proud of and immediately there are complaints. I think...

Soem Keys for the Gopher/Cal game

    1. Offense needs to sustain long drives. They need to cut down on the three and outs because Cal is far, far more explosive then Air Force. The offense, especially the OL needs to grind it out. They have a lot of dependence on the big play (maybe to much), and need to win the war of the...

I thing I greatly appreciate about Brewster

is how he has integrated the past glories of the UofM football as a way of encouraging and building up the confidence and potential of the present program. It really showed tonight. Brew's honoring the past speaks well IMO.

The thing that makes this game even harder to swallow

is the legitimate feeling that the Gophers should be much better then they have been playing. I guess the rest of the game and half time adjustments will let us know if they are a team of character or we just got woken up with a splash of very cold water.

Curious about how Cosgrove will do

granted his defense fell under severe questioning at Nebraska, at the same time he used his year off to talk to and learn from various head coaches. It will be interesting to see how the defense turns out.
