What? Players?? According to guys on here...the only thing that matters is the coach. Nothing else is to be considered.

Most everyone on this board is a glass-half-full person. They think a coaching change will make a difference.

As I said before...it's bad enough how guys here point to 3-4 teams (out of 300+) every year to say that coaching matters. Now we're going game by game LOL.

The criteria at Minnesota is to make sure we DON'T win. This is not hyperbole.

Another thread about coaching?? The coaching is good. The coach has brought in and developed many VALUABLE players in the last 2 years. The problem has always been our administration. They sabotaged Haskins', Tubby's, and Pitino's best teams. We'd be a great program...the issue is NOT coaching.

We're an excellent feeder club. Battle, Cooper, Payne, Hawkins, Christie, etc.

Recruiting is meaningless. There's unrestricted free-agency every year for every player now.

Those $$ won't go to football or men's basketball. And now I'm actually okay with that. I actually agree with our administration on that...albeit for very different reasons. They simply despise football & men's basketball. Me...if I want to watch pro sports, I'll watch the Vikings &...

Every year, there are 1-2 football teams (out of 100) and 3-4 basketball teams (out of 300) that you can point to. Yes, we here at Minnesota might have a contending team once every 40-50 years.

We don't lack cash. That's propaganda. We could have kept Payne & Hawkins if we wanted to. Winning only 2 NCAA games in the last 27 years...at Minnesota...doesn't happen by accident. It's a concerted effort.

True. I meant that building a team has nothing to do with coaching. And our administration will never pay for good players.

We will never hang that banner. And we will always be a low-budget team. No matter how many donations come in...we will never pay to keep good men's basketball players.

They're not. That's the whole point. We're a low-budget team.

What good would playing Asuma do? If he shows potential, he's gone next year.
