Possible Schedule Changes for this Fall?

Not that it matters but that makes it a lot easier to rack up a really impressive record and ranking going into the last 2. If they play well 8-2 or better is doable and if they play like they did a few years ago they could be 10-0. If things shape up right earlier that Iowa game could be like...

Possible Schedule Changes for this Fall?

Don't they plan the crossover games years in advance to make sure they are fair? I don't understand why they're changing them, but if it ends up breaking up the clump of home games I'll take it. 2020 was a weird enough season it shouldn't factor into future plans.

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN STATE AT MINNESOTA BIG TEN OPENER IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

    1. Traffic/parking were awful, it took 15 minutes to go the last 2 miles. Not all of the lanes in the ramp were open and they were only taking cards which slowed it down. 2. Really not a fan of the mask thing 3. The crowd has been quiet, although I'm guessing that's different for bigger games...

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN STATE AT MINNESOTA BIG TEN OPENER IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Agreed, I've been a casual fan since 2018-19 and came to this one, not sure if I'll be back this year. It's one thing to lose but losing by double digits at home is frustrating. The game day experience is worse than I remember which doesn't help either. I do like that they keep fighting, the...

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN STATE AT MINNESOTA BIG TEN OPENER IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I don't understand why they keep going back to the 3 when it isn't working.

They shouldn't be surprised when things get out of control later when they let them get away with that.

Offense looks better but the defense looks a lot worse.

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN STATE AT MINNESOTA BIG TEN OPENER IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Is the offense normally this bad? Not going to win too many Big Ten games scoring 24 points a half.

    What is the Problem?

At the end of the day most of the blame falls on Fleck. He's in year 5 and recruited just about the whole team so if the players aren't good enough that's on him. He hired his coaches and coordinators so if they're the problem that's on him. There's been a pattern of playing down to the level of...

The coach who (almost) never punts

I think the big difference is that the baseball season is long enough that there's enough time for all of the unconventional decisions that have a minor benefit to add up and pay off. The football season is small enough and games are decided with few enough plays that you're much less likely to...

Big Ten COVID rule. If team can’t play due to COVID, it’s a forfeit. L.

It seems unlikely that a team would be completely unable to play. We might see a few games with a ton of backups playing or guys playing out of position but with how big the rosters are most teams have enough people even if half of the team is sick or force to quarantine. The wording...

Single Game Ticket Prices - Ohio St

There is an exception that could potentially include games: As permitted by an athletic facility or by team policies, procedures, or rules. I'm guessing they're keeping it intentionally vague because they're considering it and don't want to hurt ticket sales. Football is probably safe because...

    Big Ten Homecoming Games 2021

Homecoming is mainly a marketing tool. It makes sense to use it on a game where you're going to struggle to sell tickets.

Ohio State Football could struggle in first half vs. Minnesota

Their defense is their weak spot. Last year only held 3 of their opponents to less than 20 points, and two of those three were weak offenses that were within 7 of their season average against Ohio State. Half of their opponents either had 400+ passing yards or 200+ rushing yards against them...

Kenni Burns: Another great year at the annual Running Back Grill-off!

I'm just a few years younger than he is. I wear headphones a ton but if I wore them to a social event with my friends or coworkers they probably wouldn't ask him again. Maybe the pictures are out of context but considering he has them on in 2 different pictures and combined with the expression...

Kenni Burns: Another great year at the annual Running Back Grill-off!

I think it's even worse than looking at your phone because you could be repeatedly checking your phone because you're waiting for an important message. I doubt he means anything by it but like you said it's sending a horrible message. Wearing earbuds at a social event is nowhere close to...

ESPN: SEC commissioner Greg Sankey says COVID-19 concerns won't lead to rescheduled football games

I bet if Alabama is in a position where they'd have to forfeit they'd find a way to work around it. Now that everyone has a chance to get the vaccine I don't see why this is still a big issue. There shouldn't be testing requirements unless players show symptoms and only players who show...

    Mobile Tickets Only

I think overall mobile tickets are much easier to use but it's disappointing they aren't giving the option of paper tickets for people who prefer them or don't have a smartphone. I can't imagine they're saving that much money by getting rid of the paper tickets. At the very least give people...

Texas Governor signs law to allow Texas college athletes the freedom to secure representation & get paid for use of their name, image…

I didn't know it was illegal before. So now it's not a crime for college athletes in Texas to receive money for their name, image, and likeness but if they do, the NCAA can and will still stop them from playing. Other than laying groundwork for when the NCAA changes their rules this doesn't do...
