    Other B1G Conference Games 2024-25

Exactly. I think for some, the idea that the circumstances/timing for both teams travel was exactly the same, therefore, it MUST be that one team was ducking the competition to avoid taking a loss. Conspiracy theories are far easier for some folks to go with than exploring all the different...

    Other B1G Conference Games 2024-25

You're saying that the decision was made before Friday, at which time the fires were gong on full blast in the area? The story indicates that Friday was when they announced they weren't making the trip. Even though the winds aren't getting really bad again until a little later today, I think...

    Other B1G Conference Games 2024-25

One thing to consider is that the Santa Ana winds are expected to whip up to a consistent 50mph again today, vastly increasing the fire danger in the L.A. area. Of course, these wildfires can be wildly unpredictable and even if they don't directly affect LAX and the 2 campuses right now, it...

Mick Cronin went OFF on his players following their loss to Michigan 😳 “We’re soft… Every day, I have more passion and energy in practice." (video)

How his players (and His Assistant Coaches) respond will certainly tell everything you need to know. Not strictly in terms of wins and losses, but more in terms of how they approach games, practice, and everything else associated with being part of a college basketball program. I thought calling...

    B1G Game 5: Gophers host Rutgers (1-8-25)

I'm guessing that Coach P is indeed selling the vision of playing time; as soon as we see you consistently doing this, this and/or this every day in practice. If you have any questions, let's look at the film again and I can show you exactly what we're talking about. Pretty much all coaches...

    B1G Game 5: Gophers host Rutgers (1-8-25)

Somebody has to ask the question. If I, as a fan, choose to dwell on the Rutgers negative drama, how exactly does that affect the play of my Minnesota Gophers Womens basketball team? Is Dawn P gonna forget her pre-game pep talk because she knows I'm also paying attention to the Rutgers drama...

    Cochran update - "tangible progress"

Was going to copy and paste a YouTube video of some of his Toledo highlights, but couldn't make it work, so I'll just tell you. He's a physical big guard, rather than lightning quick. Uses his strength to get where he wants. Is generally moving to the hoop rather than east-west. Seems to have a...

Isaiah Ihnen suffers another season ending injury

I was rooting for him 2. It may have just been a matter of being 2 years removed from knee injuries that made the difference for him at Liberty. It also could have been the difference in overall level of play as opposed to the Big Ten. But if the above factors weren't really the big factors, I...

    B1G Game 3: Gophers visit Wisconsin (12-31-24)

As we all know, offense comes and goes. Which is why being able to play good defense is so important. Playing well defensively allows you to win when you can only score 59. A 20 point 4th quarter was not great, but holding a team to 30 points over 3 quarters is elite.

B1G Game 2: Gophers host Penn State (12-28-24)

Holy Cow Tori! Welcome to page 1 of everybody's scouting report next week!

B1G Game 2: Gophers host Penn State (12-28-24)

One of the things that makes young, high-level athletes what they are is the absolute belief that "I can make this play!". However unlikely from our viewpoint, they believe and don't hesitate. Age and experience usually makes them less likely to make the dumb play, but it can be extremely...

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

Didn't Jay Wright get out of coaching for the specific recruiting reasons that the Gophers have been dealing with? As in, he didn't want to have to deal with the problems with an unchecked transfer portal and the idea that getting that prized recruit could come down to simply money above every...

Game 13: Gophers host Prairie View A&M (12-20-24)

It's a real thing for some schools. The teams in my town, ran into some difficulty with that in trying to schedule exhibition games over the years. The womens team knocked off D-1 opponents St. Mary's and U of Pacific and played some other very tight games over the years, and now when they...

***OFFICIAL FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Just asking the question, since I can't possibly know because I don't get to watch practice. But, is it possible that the reason Asuma doesn't start is because he isn't particularly aggressive with his offense in practice and if he isn't aggressive and confident offensively in practice, chances...

Does DTA work with all Gopher teams,

There's a lot of "I would assume", "We don't know", "I would guess" and the like regarding this subject. Wondering when, or even if, there will ever be a completely transparent accounting on how much and where this money goes. Not to mention if these organizations (individuals) will ever...

Besides the Gophers who do you cheer for?

Don't really root for the other Big Ten teams until they get into the tournament. Like to watch Big Ten hoops, with-out really rooting for one team over the other. Seems to give me a nice, unbiased view of the actual game, which is actually pretty enjoyable. I tend to root for the local...

    Looks Bad for the Boys

To be clear, pretty sure I'm not a knucklehead. More of a Butthead, though I have also been called a chucklehead, so it's easy to confuse me with the others.

Anyone notice Amir Coffey and Cam Christie playing against the Timberwolves last night?

If they did, odds that they would actually be the highest paid team in the tournament?

Game 11: Gophers visit Nebraska (12-8-24)

Distribute to exactly who? In the first quarter, I'm guessing she was passing to teammates, took exactly 2 shots and by then, it was apparent that nobody was hitting shots. We know that Battle has shown the ability to get and make her shot. I imagine that Coach Dawn may have sent her back in...

Game 11: Gophers visit Nebraska (12-8-24)

I was only able to follow on Live Stats, but it seems the only positives today were; Only 4 turnovers and Rose seemed to be offensively efficient off the bench (numbers-wise at least). Everything else? Best to just slam the door on this one and get ready for the next.
