Curious as I see a number of football players stating their recommitment (still very weird to me) and their partnership with DinkyTownAthletes. Do BB have the same opportunities or does DTA just work with the football team.
ThanksAll teams.
My guess is almost all significant donations to DTA are donor restricted to the sports they want. Yours and my t shirt purchases and nickel and dime donations are available for anything but probably a relatively small portion of the total.at this point, I don't think anyone knows for sure what the distribution of the money is like. I know that DTA mentioned the Volleyball program in its big Fall matching-funds donation drive, so VB is clearly getting something.
but as to how much Football receives versus other sports, including Men's hoops, I don't know. and I don't know - but I suspect - that a 3rd-party organization like DTA is not subject to an open-records or FOI request - while a public university like MN would be subject to such a request.
Basketball gets something. but we don't know how much and we don't know what % of the total funds goes to basketball.
I think that stating their recommitment is more of a plug for DTA and encouraging people to continue to contribute that.Curious as I see a number of football players stating their recommitment (still very weird to me) and their partnership with DinkyTownAthletes. In one word, well technically seven NoThere's a lot of "I would assume", "We don't know", "I would guess" and the like regarding this subject. Wondering when, or even if, there will ever be a completely transparent accounting on how much and where this money goes. Not to mention if these organizations (individuals) will ever publicize the general reasoning and formulas used to determine how and why all these donations are distributed. Why do I get the feeling that the folks in the middle of all this would really rather that the general public remains ignorant on exactly how it works at the program we're rooting for.
