All Things Jaxon Howard Recruitment Thread (Class of 2023, COMMITS TO GOPHERS!!)

The question one should be asking "will he be an asset who will add value on & off the field"? Not every is qualified to be a Gopher football player. As the song says there is happiness in "unanswered prayers". Diddy
He's from Minnesota, so wouldn't that automatically mean he has "good Minnesota values" that you bring up often?

Minnesota would be a great place for him for him to have a fresh start. Would want to do well in front of friends and family.

I’d take him in a heartbeat but I’m betting he has some string offers.

When can Howard make his transfer? Is it tomorrow? That’s what I thought I saw somewhere recently. Go Gophers!

He'd be an immediate starter at DE....he and Joyner would give us a pass rush we haven't had in years!!! Please, please, please come home.
Slow down partner. We have a pretty good Senior penciled to start at Rush End in Danny Striggow. It'd be VERY surprising if Howard started accross from Joyner this Fall.

But probably rotating in for reps, not that you claimed otherwise.

DL is one of those positions where there is a lot of rotation and you need a bunch of bodies. But yeah, Striggow almost certainly starts, plenty of reps to go around though.

Thought Gophers recruited Howard at TE position more so than defensive end. Always thought he was more of an offensive side of the line than defense in HS. Thought he got good seperation off the line and caught the ball well in space. I'm not a coach so clearly what I think don't matter. Hoping Howard would like to come home and play in front of friends and family.

For sure, I also think we'll see a steady dose of Anthony Smith rotating in at DE.

Joyner, Striggow, Smith, and Howard on the ends could create some disruption for the QB.

Likely, Logan-Redding will more of a rotational interior DL in 2024, I would think. Would not surprise me to see the Gophers hit the portal market to add one more interior DL to add to the mix for depth, etc. Even better if he's a stud!
