Ken Yackel lettered in three sports, Hockey (3 times), baseball (3 times), and football (twice) during the mid-fifties. I remember seeing him play semi-Pro hockey for the Minneapolis Millers. He was one tough dude.

The only way major college football can be replaced IMHO is if the NFL establishes and finances a minor league system.

I'm guessing a possible 5 game Big Ten West season, a 5 game Big Ten East season, followed by a Big Ten Championship Game and possibly a 2, 4, or 5 team National Championship playoff.

Gerry Dinardo said on tonight's BTN recap of spring games that he feels the Gophers will be the most improved team in the B1G this year. He also indicated they have a good chance of going Bowling this year. It's nice to see us get some love for once.

It was just announced on BTN that Bret Bielema just got a five year extension to 2017 at Wisconsin. Will that help or hurt the Gophers? I think it will help them.
