That is literally NOT hearsay. If a student athlete is willing to testify under oath that he was offered something of value to transfer to another school - that is direct evidence of tampering.
2020 was a clusterfart for all P5 schools and was not an accurate reflection of the strength of programs that season. Remember the MN-Neb game Dec 12 that year, after a 3 week layoff due to covid issues, the Gophers missing 33 players and starting a number of true freshman for the first time in...
Defense always seemed to struggle during the Mason regime. While he was a huge upgrade over Wacker, his record here was 64-57, just a little better than 500, good for 4th place all time in wins (behind Williams, Bierman and Warmath). For what it's worth, Fleck at 33-23 is currently 6th all...
I also liked Kill even though his record here was only 29-29. He inherited a mess from Brewster, and got us into the Citrus Bowl a few years later. His thin skin over Fleck's "changing the culture" remarks when Fleck was hired reflected poorly on him given the sex scandal and collateral damage...
The reaction reminds me of the scene when Gutey was introduced to the team as the next head coach when Holtz left back in the mid 80's. He had been the defensive coordinator and the favorite to take over. Lots of cheering and back slapping, but when Holtz's recruits graduated or otherwise left...
So what if the student section emptied out onto the field - leading the way for many others. It was a totally spontaneous reaction on their part and fun to watch. I personally did not feel a need to rush the field, but whom am I, or you, or Reusse, or Barrieiro or others critical of this...
Still unable to get my tickets! I know of others with the same problem. After signing in the app shuts down before the tickets show up. Had issues prior to the Illinois game also, they semed to resolve themselves an hour or so prior to game time.
Love to see this! PJ has brought stability and consistent competitiveness to the program. He was just what we needed 5 years ago. He is still learning as a coach, there are issues he needs to improve on (game management for one), but there is no reason he can't continue to grow as a coach...
Leonard is ready to move up and I could see him going to Nebraska if Frost loses the last 6 games of the year and ends with just 3 wins. Even if Nebraska defeats Purdue today, there's a good chance Frost ends up with just the 4 victories. The Frost hiring has been a big disappointment in Lincoln.
