PJ Fleck, Gophers Have Turned in Multiple Rival Schools for Tampering

That is literally NOT hearsay. If a student athlete is willing to testify under oath that he was offered something of value to transfer to another school - that is direct evidence of tampering.

Shama on Fleck: 21 Big Ten wins over four years is the most ever for the football program that began in 1882.

2020 was a clusterfart for all P5 schools and was not an accurate reflection of the strength of programs that season. Remember the MN-Neb game Dec 12 that year, after a 3 week layoff due to covid issues, the Gophers missing 33 players and starting a number of true freshman for the first time in...

Bud Grant Video as a Philadelphia Eagle

If you search Philadelphia Eagles highlights, 1951 as well as 1952 on YouTube - you'll see even more Bud Grant highlights. Number 86 I believe....

Gophers hired Glen Mason 25 years ago today with a salary of $140,000 per year plus incentives

Defense always seemed to struggle during the Mason regime. While he was a huge upgrade over Wacker, his record here was 64-57, just a little better than 500, good for 4th place all time in wins (behind Williams, Bierman and Warmath). For what it's worth, Fleck at 33-23 is currently 6th all...

Jerry Kill - New Mexico State

I also liked Kill even though his record here was only 29-29. He inherited a mess from Brewster, and got us into the Citrus Bowl a few years later. His thin skin over Fleck's "changing the culture" remarks when Fleck was hired reflected poorly on him given the sex scandal and collateral damage...

O - line next season will be young but talented. JMS will provide leadership and be an anchor for those guys. Great news!

2021-2022 College Football Coach Hire/Fire Thread

The reaction reminds me of the scene when Gutey was introduced to the team as the next head coach when Holtz left back in the mid 80's. He had been the defensive coordinator and the favorite to take over. Lots of cheering and back slapping, but when Holtz's recruits graduated or otherwise left...

Reusse takes shots at Heather Fleck, "cowardly folks at Gopher Hole"

So what if the student section emptied out onto the field - leading the way for many others. It was a totally spontaneous reaction on their part and fun to watch. I personally did not feel a need to rush the field, but whom am I, or you, or Reusse, or Barrieiro or others critical of this...

    Gopher Pass

Don't think so - my friend is having the same issue this morning, and he tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app without solving the problem.

    Gopher Pass

Still unable to get my tickets! I know of others with the same problem. After signing in the app shuts down before the tickets show up. Had issues prior to the Illinois game also, they semed to resolve themselves an hour or so prior to game time.

    Contract Extension for Fleck

Love to see this! PJ has brought stability and consistent competitiveness to the program. He was just what we needed 5 years ago. He is still learning as a coach, there are issues he needs to improve on (game management for one), but there is no reason he can't continue to grow as a coach...

2021-2022 College Football Coach Hire/Fire Thread

Leonard is ready to move up and I could see him going to Nebraska if Frost loses the last 6 games of the year and ends with just 3 wins. Even if Nebraska defeats Purdue today, there's a good chance Frost ends up with just the 4 victories. The Frost hiring has been a big disappointment in Lincoln.

Gophers football 2021 spring practice: 5 things to watch

If Mo goes down - are Potts and Wiley (or others just as unproven) able to step up? Zack could start for many schools in the conference - backup qb is in good hands. Can last season's inexperienced defense show enough improvement to win some games for us? We have reliable kickers on the...

Minnesota football: 5 biggest holes to fill in 2021 starting lineup

I think finding a #2 and #3 running back behind Ibraham is extremely important. I'm not sold on either Wiley or Potts at this point. I'm very confident in the kickers that have been brought in; the effect of covid running rampant through our kickers last season cost us at least two games...

Official 2021 Gophers Football Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos etc

I see Big Dan on the CBS 2021 draft rankings as the the #52 overall prospect and #12 OL prospect. Perhaps he is considering a move up, and with Dunlap's recovery for 2021 a big question mark, OL depth is a must.

    T Olson Medical Redshirt

Just wondering if he will even be capable of playing again this season, and if a medical redshirt is even a possiblity. Not sure how many games he's played or what the NCAA standard is for a medical redshirt; but Kill might be smart to shut him down for the last 3 games in any event and see...
