Norwood Teague to Virginia Tech?

Very surprising he'd jump this soon

Maybe he couldn't get that practice facility

We are a better all-around athletic program (more competitive in most sports) than Virginia Tech. If Woody really wants to jump ship, than so be it. I want someone here who wants to be here and is dedicated to the program.

Football rules all other sports though. And I'm sure Teague believes he can improve the basketball program. It would really suck to lose him IMO.

I just texed Chris Werle, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications, and he replied "Norwood is not a candidate for that job."

So, that settles that.

I Googled Teague Virginia Tech and no articles from any newspapers came up. If he was the candidate, wouldn't the Blacksburg paper have an article?

No big loss. The U wouldn't have had to bring in Lou Nanne if Teague had been getting the fund raising job done. A few posters predicted awhile back that he would head back east at the first opportunity.

Would be a lateral move at best. The ACC is weaker overall, VT basketball is a hot mess, and no one really knows what will happen when Frank Beamer retires, which is likely in the next 5 years.

This, VT sports is football and nothing else, really. But, the weather is nicer in March and the people there speak with a Southern twang, so, what the hell, why not?

Seriously, VT is a great school, but I'd think the U presents a lot more opportunities overall.

Virginia is home for Teague. The mess VT basketball is in and Beamer's retirement provide the opportunity for him put his stamp on VT athletics for a long time.

But that's a NAMED source. We all know that only anonymous sources are valid. Anyone else could double-check your source, it's much better to have a source that no one can check.

This has been a test of the emergency sarcasm system.

Because if you name a source they are not a source anymore.

At least that's what some believe.

I'd say he's gone. The Texas barbecue picture is too much to overcome. #schwing

The Hokies went all Becky Badger - they cooled on him . . .

Teague and Nanne are tight, it was Teague who brought him in. This isn't based on any insider info, except that I've been to JD Hoyts on 5-6 different Fridays and Lou Nanne and Teague were always hanging out together on the booths around the bar.
