I can see it now:

Would you rather, Gopher Style!!!

The new game sweeping the Gopher Hole Community

If Teague wants Tubby gone it would take a run to the Elite 8 to get him to change. If the Gophers are an 11 seed getting to the Sweet 16 would mean beating a 5 seed and a 4 or 13 seed. Basically two wins over teams ranked 16-25 (Ie Wisconsin type teams).

As with the Selection committee, any decision must be made on body of work. Presumably also that Teague has a hire in mind.

As much as I want a new coach, I also want us to win a tournament game for the first time in over a decade.

It is 6 and 3/14.

I want to see us win. It would be nice to see us advance and shed some of the negative vibes around this program. Plus it would be nice for our graduating seniors. I get that Tubby is not the answer, but to cheer for a loss? That's shameful.

I would rather just cheer for my team to win because no matter what I think or do, it will not affect the game or if Tubby will be here next year. I'd rather just be a regular fan and let it all play out. If we lose, I'll be pissed like fans usually are. If we win a game or two, I'll be excited.

Yeah, agree, there are no guarantees - given the opportunity to make a run in the NCAAs, I am rooting HARD for that every time....no questions, no doubts

If this wasn't fragile before, the last second loss to the Illini proably has them one step from Flaky Acres. If they get in, I expect a first round loss.

I don't need to post anymore because you always say exactly what I'm thinking.

I agree it is shameful. In this scenerio where Tubby was truly playing one game for his job and with a win he stays and a loss he is gone I chose that I would prefer they lose. It isn't shameful, you even said that Tubby is not the answer meaning you would be fine with having another season of Tubby for 1 win.

Cheering for a Gopher loss in the NCAA Tourney? That would mean you're definitely not a Gopher fan...but rather a D-Bag.

Would die to see the Gophers win in the tournament!

I am not the only "d-bag" or "non-gopher fan" there are 36 other "d-bags" that would prefer they lost if that meant Tubby would be fired. In matter of fact there were more "d-bags" and "non-gopher fans" than "gopher fans."

I hope they win, because I am not sure this game has any implications on Tubby's job. I was answering the question in context to the question, and the true "if/then."

Don't take it too seriously. Lakes and Parski are just Saul pining to keep his job. They have a hard time grasping criticism of their pa. Give em' a break, they don't know better.

I hate to tell you both this but even with a loss to UCLA Tubby will still keep his job - which he should. So cry all you want!

I hate to tell you that I actually read the question. The question was:
Lose game 1 and fire Tubby
or win game 1 and lose game 2 and keep Tubby

If those are my only two options, I am choosing option one.

Really? How do you figure?

I personally am a die-hard Gopher fan. And if us losing to UCLA is what it takes to ensure Tubby is gone, then I am all for it. We are not going to make a run in this tourney with him as our coach. And the next 5 years will be brutally painful if he does not get shown the door. I am not willing to spend the kind of money I do on season tickets to watch a poorly coached, poorly recruited team. I want our program to grow, not fall to the bottom of the B1G.

Die hard gopher fan but hoping we lose to get rid of tubby...real die hard what a joke!

Saul, what does the poll say?

Win NCAA first round. Lose in 2nd round. Tubby stays as coach.
Lose in NCAA first round. Graceful exit for Tubby.

Most of us want to see the Gophers win, but the poll doesn't give that option without Flubby coming back. That's the fault of the poller, not the person voting.

There should be another options such as: Flubby comes back as head coach, but must give all offensive reigns over to a superior offensive coach who refuses to allow the team to keep playing "Hold the ball and stand" offense", which Flubby seems to teach. We bring in a great up and coming assistant who can be the heir apparent to Flubby and I'd acquiesce to Flubby having his job for one more year.
