Shortell in games that matter: far less than impressive.

As the Eskimos say, "Some days you get the bear, some days the bear gets you."

I not upset with the D this game, but the inexperience on the offense shows. I'm still liking our chances matchup-wise @home with NW.

We really needed gray today. Shortell is simply not the quarterback needed to keep Iowa on its heels.

Looks bad, but I'm happy to say I was wrong about the Gophers collapsing in the second half. 7-7 at this point, and we get the ball back. We have no running game without Q and Shortell is a sophomore with limited experience. The Big Ten will be rough, but I expected us to lose this one and Northwestern (and said so). Thank God for the bye.

I am gonna say it - Adam Weber on this team and we would win 9-10 games in the weak Big Ten this year.

What bothers me about the Hawkeyes is the chippiness after the whistle. Repeatedly I've seen Iowa players shove and grab Gopher facemasks. Should have received at least a warning if not several penalties by now.

Weisman is a nice story, but they are talking about the guy like he's the reincarnation of Jim Brown.

No, the Shortell that the people with blinders on saw the last two weeks, THAT guy could win 9-10 games this year.

Hey, we might score a garbage touchdown at the end here. That would be nice.

A co-second team walkon fullback doing what he is doing with the recent history of Iowa running backs is more than a nice story.

I'll give the team credit for trying in the second half. It's something.
