It's THAN, not then dumb*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#. :D

How did that happen so quickly?

Seems as if Devoe had planned this out for some time. Perhaps as soon as he was suspended this year.

I imagine an airplane has something to do with it. I know the game was called "Oregon Trail" but life isn't exactly like that anymore.

Devoe has had this planned since December of 2009. Nolen's grades which resulted in a starting spot we're the only thing that kept him at Mn last year.

Interesting but not surprising. I'm curious why he didn't transfer after last season then? I assume he tought he had the starting PG spot in the bag for this season?

I think I recall a thread a long while ago where something about Devoe concerned you, and it wasn't his injury. I am guessing that this may have been it? And also a big reason why Cory did not come to MN, he likely had some idea Devoe would be leaving.

I am hoping Mo still stays, because some reported he only came to make things easier for Devoe.

I would guess PG or SG or a spot in a 3-guard line-up. Then he got suspended and its all downhill from there.

Are Walker and Devoe from the same HS or something? I know they're friends and fellow Canadians, but I think the connection is a bit over-blown.

They played together for awhile in Canada (I believe Mo played with Cory or Devoe?) I am sketchy on the details, but I know Mo has referred to Devoe and Cory to be like brothers. I don't think they are best friends by any means, but I believe they were and their families were close.

I feel like you deserve some credit for this...classic

Thanks JG. Wish we heard from you more often.

Henceforth he shall be called

DeWho? Joseph

alternatively

Corey Joseph's Brother

I don't like the fact that the staff and fans, for that matter, were strung along thinking Cory was seriously thinking of coming here. In light of all the facts and new info. regarding Devoe, there was no way in hell Cory was coming here. What a waste of time.

First of all its NEW arena!
Devoe/Cory played at same high school, Mo at a different one. They all played club ball together and are very good friends. Devoe leaving has nothing to do with Mo. Mo will have a great career at Minny once he recovers from his injury.

If you led your team to the B10 title game, was named B10 tourney allstar, then came into your junior year and didnt start, sat behind lesser players, werent allowed to shoot the ball and were suspended....tell me you would stay?? You are crazy if you say yes! Devoe, Hoff, Nolan, Trevor and Iverson should have been the starting lineup with Mo, RS, Rodney playing good minutes depending on matchups.....you all saw the Ohio St game...too many subs...play your starters Tubby!

Yes. Or I'd transfer at the end of a year so I didn't lose any eligibility or abandon my teammates.

Poor Dewho. He did absolutly nothing to deserve his fate. He is a victim. Tubby is a fool. Dewho's mommy should be the coach.

Devoe wanted to come to MN before Cory. How do we know Cory didn't want to come here, regardless of Devoe?

I think Cory considered MN not because Devoe was here, but because he loved the school and Tubby for the exact reasons Devoe did when he committed.

I tell you what's a "disgusting site" - the Oregon basketball homecourt. Looks like a bunch of animals with diarrhea crapped all over it & they couldn't get rid of the stains.

He had NO reason to transfer after last year...he was playing 30+ mins/game, freedom to shoot, everything was good...then he comes in this year and he's back on the bench playing 15-20mins/game? Was he supposed to wait until another teammate got suspended??

Im not blaming anyone, im just stating the facts. He should have been playing MORE minutes and allowed to create offensively...didnt even matter if he was starting, you cant argue he was the only one who could create on offense!

He made the decision to leave, he will have to live with the consequences of lost eligibility and teammates...but maybe some of them wish they had the %$##'s to leave too!!!

What are Devoe's connections to the Ducks anyway?

That does make me sick to imagine him wearing anything but maroon and gold.

I'm not sure what your interest is here, and would be curious to know, but you are glossing over the "facts" IMO. Or at least, the publicly known ones. For one thing, he got suspended for off court issues (as told on this site and elsewhere, multiple positive drug tests) before a single game was played this year, so is it any wonder that he wasn't "starting" when he came back? For another thing, the two starting guard spots are manned by seniors who need to be there -- our best shooter, and our best defender, among other things.

Should Tubby use a 3 guard lineup? That's up to him, and maybe he would have eventually this year. Even if he didn't, if DJ would have been a team player he would've been a key member of this year's team regardless, whether as sixth man or starter. And next year, DJ would have been the ONLY experienced guard coming back, the #1 offensive option, and the undisputed team leader on a very, very good team.

To me, this transfer was all about a player's selfishness, petulance, and lack of discipline.

How is that disgusting? I call it beautiful. I could not stand Devoe Joseph's game, his ball hoggery, and his overconfidence in his very mediocre playmaking ability. In my opinion, our team is far better without him than with him. Just my two bits.

Dewho was not playing well and didn't deserve more time. He quite clearly was not playing the way Tubby was asking him to play offensively and it showed. To top it off, his defense sucked and he didn't seem to worry too much about that part of his game.

Could he have improved? Yes. Obviously. As you state, Dewho led an improbable run to the tournament last year and played very well.

But if a player isn't doing what the coach asks, he's not going to play as much. Dewho could have corrected that, but he chose to quit instead. Mid-year. Like a moron.

Do you quit when you don't get your way too, t-man?

If you look at his posts, all of them are about either Cory or Cory's older brother. I'd say it's safe to say that this poster is either A) Cory's pot-smoking older brother or B) A friend of Cory's pot-smoking older brother. Either way, it's almost 11 pm in Eugene right now, I bet Cory's pot-smoking older brother is lighting up as we speak.:cool02:
