Hey, I lurked for years and finally made the jump recently. You need to do the same. The more members, the more interesting news and opinions!

Joining the Hole is sort of like that Holiday Inn Express commercial. Joining The Hole will result in you're sleeping better, increased intellectual ability, and great wealth!

Lurkers should join, but I always feel sorry for people who haven't lurked long enough to get a feel for the place. They almost always post something stupid, get the virtual crap beat out of them, and leave within 20 posts.

I am here often reading, but do not always have much to say or contribute. If nothing else, join so you can open the sweet attachments you wish you could see.

I think this might be post #5 or 6 for me. Been lurking since August. I find that usually when I have something to say, somebody beats me to it. Or--as in the case of the post about changing the venue of the Rose Bowl each year, I am to aghast to say anything. Besides, with the exception of topics such as how much the Hawkeyes and their drooling fan base sucks rubber donkey lungs, I find that most on the board are far more knowledgeable than I.

Hey, if only knowledgeable people posted this would be a pretty lame board. IMHO that fact that you said that puts you at least in the upper half of "knowledgeness" - besides you already have my vote for donkey lung insight.

It would be way too expensive to move the Rose Bowl around. I can't even imagine how many trucks it would take. Just leave it in Pasadena.

Rodent, you just have to pick your spots. GopherHole presents numerous opportunities to pontificate on subjects about which you don't having to know anything. Just like I am doing know. That is the main stock and trade around here. A good way for you to get started is to join the GopherHole spelling and grammar police. There is always plenty of opportunity in that area.

Good luck to you, Rodent. Just remember if you don't get your ass kicked at least once a week for something you posted you are not trying very hard. And you are not experiencing everything an internet message board has to offer.

Lots of us read, and don't post. Am a season ticket holder since Holtz. Actually attended games in Memorial. Donor. All that pretentiousness aside, love this site. Read it daily. Just can't think of much to add. This is my favorite sport. Love Gopher Football. But you folks entertain me. Love to see the shared passion.

Don't know why some folks hate Iowa more than Wisconsin. Bucky is the devil.

We have had a ton of new posters sign up for user names over the past few months. We are excited about the energy that the fan base has and are pumped for the Kill Era. It will be a fun ride and great for all of us to go through it together.

Hey SaintPaulGuy...I was in the "card section" @ Memorial my freshman years. Those were the days...the campus was electric every Saturday.

My kids both graduated from the U...if I wouldn't have taken them to games @ the Dome, they never would have gone to one. Moving it off campus ruined everything (of course a whole bunch of losing teams probably contributed as much or more).

(Yeah there's some shared passion on this site...not always healthy, but always passionate, even about grammar!).
