Michigan fires Moore

I think it would be very bad for us if PJ left, so I hope no one from over there is interested. But I also think they would be stupid not to go after him. I think he’s the perfect man for them right now. He’s the perfect coach to repair their reputation, and he’s “won” in a tough place to win at Minnesota. I absolutely think he could win big at Michigan given the resources he would have at that program.
Only thing that can save us is a Jim Leonhard revenge arc

It's very common to be laid off without cause and continue to work for the company for weeks or even months. But usually HR is involved.
My manager had to call a guy who was on vacation to tell him he was being laid off. Awkward to say the least.

In my dream scenario, Lake Kiffin hasn't yet officially signed his contract with LSU. Michigan hires DeBoer and Kiffin goes to Alabama.

The meltdown at LSU would be incredibly entertaining.
For all we know, Lane might be still praying about switching to Michigan.

He was successful at Western Michigan with Temu Tressel Ball, so he would most likely be more successful with access to capital to build one of the better, if not the best, rosters in the league. No worse than 3rd or 4th in talent. His winning percentage against unranked opponents would likely increase.

That said, they fired Lloyd Carr and a few others for using the same philosophy PJ employs, and even Tressel was never as successful as he should have been with it.

I admit I threw in $100 on a 2 cent Kalshi contract that Fleck gets the Michigan job

In my shock and dismay and realization that the Michigan coach's affair destroyed the Gopher football program I would at least have $5000 as consolation

I highly doubt they are getting Kalen DeBoer or want Jedd Fisch (these kinds of names are often floated but seldom pan out) which leaves Fleck as one of the likeliest options.

Someone who knows contract law better would have to weigh in, but it’s sounding more and more like Michigan knew of this pre signing day. Do any of the recruits have ability to sue the university for damages or similar? Imagine it couple get very very messy over at Michigan

Maybe, but I think it would be hard to establish what the damages are. They still have roster spots+NIL at Michigan. The only tangible damage is losing the “opportunity” to play Sherrone Moore.

Gotcha. Also was curious if could sue for damages for not disclosing pre signing and damages of association with Moore/the university

Would assume the university won’t get hit because it’s Michigan, but absolutely could get penalties for “lack of institutional control” stuff we’ve seen in past given how many things this has been

Plus it seems like kids are able to get a release rather easily nowadays.

I keep seeing this as a possibility and I would love the drama, but I don't think Bama is a better job than LSU.

I also would prefer for Michigan to look at guys like Jedd Fisch or Tommy Rees than DeBoer.

Lighten up, Francis.
Don't cancel me, this is a movie quote: "You just made the list, buddy. And I don't like nobody touching my stuff. So just keep your meat-hooks off. If I catch any of you guys in my stuff, I'll kill you. Also, I don't like nobody touching me. Now, any of you homos touch me, and I'll kill you.

My memory might be off but I don't believe Lloyd Carr was fired, it may have been a retirement or get fired situation it a Tubby at Kentucky situation, but he did win 80 percent of his conference games and a winning record against that school to the south

PJ wouldn't crack the new coach search top 3 if based primarily on pedigree, recent history or game day coaching ability. But if Michigan wants to clean house and establish a new culture in the clubhouse, a solid good-citizen culture, run by someone who knows the B1G (and the State of Michigan) inside out, PJ might be higher up the ladder than the odds makers think. Who knows what PJ's ceiing would be if he had top-end coordinators and the recruiting cream of the crop? He'd probably have to move on from, or at least de-emphasize, his Row The Boat stuff, but that's a small price to pay for a pinnacle job.

If Mich leadership knew and others were harmed then they are complicit and the dollars start stacking.

It's amazing how many Fortune 500 companies are laying people off without any involvement from HR. They just put it on the middle management to deliver the news and in some instances, they don't even escort them off the premises.

There really is a crisis of common sense in this country

HR and common sense, thanks for making me smile!

Whatever their possible damages could be (likely minimal) pale in comparison to the civil litigation that Paige Shiver could bring if she chose to. Moore's arrival at her home could not have been completely prevented by Michigan, but they clearly could have done something and it appears they did nothing.

Looks like Fisch is now the betting fav. PJ has less than a 1% chance as forecasted by betting action on Kalshi [about the same odds as Tom Brady].

Talk about flushing your life down the drain for a little pu$$y. Damn.

Sherrone Moore's charges:

- Home invasion, third degree (felony)

- Stalking (misdemeanor)

- Breaking and entering (misdemeanor)
