All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

People like the Wilfs don't become billionaires by practicing patience.

Barring a miracle turnaround that none of us would be crazy enough to admit is likely, KAM is gone at the end of the year IMO.

At least he better be.
Zero % chance KAM is gone before nest year

No one is getting fired period and i mean no one.
I’ll be surprised if B Flo and the OL coach aren’t let go; the shine is off of B Flo and there needs to be changes and there needs to be at least one sacrificial lamb toasted & roasted to mitigate the fans’ anger.

Take it up with Ron Johnson.

Said on post-game he was standing with McCown at Minnesota's pro day when Fleck came over and started pushing him to take Brosmer.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're able to understand take does not mean draft and does not mean put on roster. It just means bring into camp. Zero lost if he doesn't make it.

And I already gave Brosmer his props for actually making it. Good for him.

Does Brosmer even get a camp invite if he hadn't been at Minnesota as a one year portal mercenary?? Very possible he does not.
Never been in sales, huh?

People with a better chance than Kirk Cousins of being the 2026 Vikings QB:

Kirk Douglas
Kirk Cameron
Kirk Herbstreit
Kirk Ferentz
Kirk Gibson
Kirk Hinrich
Captain Kirk
Christian Kirk
Cousins Subs Sandwich Artist
Cousin Itt
DeMarcus Cousins
Thanks for the laugh😃.

I bet Cousin It could generate more than 4 yards of offense in the second half, per The Athletic’s game recap -

On Sunday, the Vikings generated 4 yards of offense in the second half. Four.

When the Packers weren’t bulldozing the Vikings’ offensive line — which, ironically, started its intended starting five for the first time this season — the linemen were being turnstiled like the entry gate at an amusement park. Minnesota allowed five sacks and an astronomical 48 percent pressure rate. It was a Micah Parsons showcase.

Demarcus Cousins Thanks>>>Brian My Contract Getting Restructured O’Whiff.

Yeah...well...JaMarcus Russell was never Conference Offensive Player of the Week.....

Some more fun data regarding JJ -

This was only McCarthy’s sixth NFL start, but his performance this season is one of the worst of the last 20 years. Among the 813 quarterbacks who have attempted 150 passes in a season since 2005, McCarthy’s completion percentage (54.1 percent) ranks 771st. His EPA per dropback (-0.34), which is perhaps the most advanced down-to-down measure of success, ranks 807th out of 813.

Cousins subs were the best I ever had.

Why didn’t JJ McCarthy get invited to Thanksgiving dinner? He couldn’t pass anything. Paul Lambert, do not steal this joke

I have a hunch JJM will be invited to Reusse's TOY banquet and be joined by his HC.

Other than just being awful on drafts, which is bad enough ........ the thing that absolutely takes the cake in this whole deal is the abysmal fact that they built this roster thinking they'd compete for a championship.

They assessed .... whatever the F it is they were assessing ... and said "yep, McCarthy is ready. He's good to go. He can take us to a championship, if he has the roster to support him."

I mean ... how F'ing badly can you whiff on that???????

JFC

Someone needs to get fired. I'd pick KAM.

Could easily be plural. KOC starting to look like a 1-trick pony. If KAM were to be let go, the new GM should have latitude to blow up the coaching staff.

No Charlie Kirk?

I doubt if they became billionaires by making big decisions based on knee-jerk reactions.
Did they get rich sitting back idle watching one of their businesses continue to fail?

Evaluating the overall poop that is KAM's drafting history as our GM and understanding it's time for a change is hardly a knee-jerk reaction, right?

KAM listening to KOC to take JJM could be the biggest GM mistake.

I doubt that either KAM or KOC who the Wilff’s hired/approved of, are in danger of being fired at this juncture, unless they go 1-5/2-4 in the next 6. They have very winnable games against Wash, Dallas, Giants and it wouldn’t surprise me that they upset either Det or GB at home to go 4-2 down the stretch.

KOC has produced the following as if this post -
13 win season
14 win season
Two of the better regular seasons in history, right?
COY winner
38-26 overall .594 winning %, is second only to some nobody named Bud Grant in team history. Bud’s only was .607, BTW.

If KAM or KOC is fired then the Wilfs are under the spotlight. Due to their involvement in their hiring.

As long as I’ve been following sports, the receipe for a team which has had recent success and then 💩 the bed in a season with high expectations, is that some assistant coaches are let go; for me it seems like OL coach is a no brainer and I also B Flo as a possibility, he seems like the kind of dude who has a short shelf life in an organization due to his temperament and lack of turnovers this season is insane.

Firing the coaches keeps the spotlight/pressure on KAM and KOC for next year, cause now they know they’re on

Lastly, I tell them they have to bring in a legit Vet (requiring Wilff approval) to compete with JJ next season, if he doesn’t show significant improvement in the last 6 games.

Everyone’s jobs is on the line not named Wilff.

It’s Good to be 🤴

It's going to be awesome for Minnesota fans this weekend to see Darnold carve us up and see what got away.

I was all for letting him go by the way

Purple Daily went over the cap situation. They're $23 million over, but they can pretty easily get $20 million under or more by waiving Ryan Kelly, Hockenson, Aaron Jones, and Jonathan Allen plus a couple of easy restructures for Brian O'Neil etc.
Franchise needs to be torn down. Vikings have missed out on way too many draft choices

Some weirdness with his contract extension. Wonder if there is an out clause for wilfs

Six NFL starts under the kid's belt.

I'll hit the pause button on a full blown freak out

The worrisome part is that Start #6 is much worse than Start #1, which was not great to begin with, even with the 4th Quarter rally. Additionally there were some key players that were out in Week #1 who were available yesterday.

Regression could certainly give one pause to freak out.

I don't think they are in danger either, nor even am I advocating they should be canned. All I am saying is if KAM is let go, then KOC should be shown the door as well.

The 13 & 14 win seasons produced Zero Playoff victories. Failures. Much lower Post Season winning percentage than Bud.

As for COY Winner, someone named Brian Daboll won that award recently in 2022. Just axed by the Giants. KOC could join the club.

Everyone’s jobs is on the line not named Wilff.

It’s Good to be 🤴

No matter what decision the Wilf's make either this year or next year, I am fully expecting it to be the wrong one. There's 20 years of proof of that. 3 Playoff wins in that time, zero since the 2019 season.

With a 9 win season, that was his high water mark
Just axed by the Giants. KOC could join the club.
With a .341 win %.

I’d say that’s a weak comparison🤷‍♂️
