All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Fleck pushed the QB coach into picking him up? Thanks for the laugh.
Take it up with Ron Johnson.

Said on post-game he was standing with McCown at Minnesota's pro day when Fleck came over and started pushing him to take Brosmer.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're able to understand take does not mean draft and does not mean put on roster. It just means bring into camp. Zero lost if he doesn't make it.

And I already gave Brosmer his props for actually making it. Good for him.

Does Brosmer even get a camp invite if he hadn't been at Minnesota as a one year portal mercenary?? Very possible he does not.

When a team is losing a slew of 1 score games (today obviously not withstanding) it seems one would have to be willfully blind to not realize there is some cause and effect.
When someone dies in a bad car accident, there are a multitude of factors that likely go into such a tradgedy.

Trying to make a point about the color of the hubcaps, doesn't do much good.

How have Danny and Darnold fared this year?

D Jones & Darnold are doing well, as there O-Line is protecting them enough.

If they played for the Purple this season I have no doubt their physical health would be in jeopardy, just as it's been as it's been for Wentz & McCarthy.

You couldn't come up with a worse analogy.

Hubcap color is not relevant to a car crash.

Punting more often leads to fewer points on offense, less time of possession and thus more Ls.

Wentz and McCarthy took big hits because they held the ball too long and tried to hard to make things happen.

That stat is so narrow focused, it doesn't even prove that the team is punting more often than the league average. 💡

It proved on 16 occasions of 3rd/4th and short they were successful ZERO times. Not possible to do any worse.

It equates to more punts. It couldn't be any more basic than that.

How did Rodgers fare today?
Right. And how did Darnold fare last year when the team imploded? All the Darnold lovers are completely forgetting he looked just like JJ those last two games and no one thought he would be the answer this year.

I did want them to keep Daniel Jones, but he got a better opportunity to start, so there went that.

Team A:
- 5 instances of 3rd/4th and short, 0 for 5
- 30 instances of 3rd/4th and med to long, 0 for 30
- 33 punts (went for it on 4th twice)

Team B:
- 16 instances of 3rd/4th and short, 0 for 16
- 4 instances of 3rd/4th and med to long, 0 for 4
- 18 punts (went for it on 4th twice)

Team B is better than Team A

Bold: fan rubes I'm sure didn't.

Lucky for Seattle, I guess

But then if we had signed Darnold, we wouldn't have gotten to spend all that money on all these awesome FA pickups we have this year!!

Other than just being awful on drafts, which is bad enough ........ the thing that absolutely takes the cake in this whole deal is the abysmal fact that they built this roster thinking they'd compete for a championship.

They assessed .... whatever the F it is they were assessing ... and said "yep, McCarthy is ready. He's good to go. He can take us to a championship, if he has the roster to support him."

I mean ... how F'ing badly can you whiff on that???????

JFC

Someone needs to get fired. I'd pick KAM.

Ok

So those articles and team statements all off season were a smokescreen. Some of us here called that out at the time.

I think Kwesi gets another year. But I don't think he has earned it.

Both teams would be better if they elevated their conversion rate from 0%.

So his college coach is advocating for his players? Shocking. That doesn’t mean Fleck pushed anyone into anything.

I have little doubt Brosmer was invited to camp because of him being local. But it wouldn’t be for some kind of favor. It would be because they already knew him a lot better than other options.

2026 QB: Kirk Cousins after he beats out JJ in training camp.
People with a better chance than Kirk Cousins of being the 2026 Vikings QB:

Kirk Douglas
Kirk Cameron
Kirk Herbstreit
Kirk Ferentz
Kirk Gibson
Kirk Hinrich
Captain Kirk
Christian Kirk
Cousins Subs Sandwich Artist
Cousin Itt
DeMarcus Cousins

No one is getting fired period and i mean period.
People like the Wilfs don't become billionaires by practicing patience.

Barring a miracle turnaround that none of us would be crazy enough to admit is likely, KAM is gone at the end of the year IMO.

At least he better be.
