But the economy/population of Ohio is like double that of Minnesota and tOSU is their flagship school. Yes, they have other D1 schools, but other than Cincinnati, they're MAC schools with middling support.

Phrase your question differently and I suspect we might even agree. Phrase it the way you did, and it is objectively a bad question. If you don't understand my point, consider it being pretty similar to this:

I was there, also. All that you say is true, although the actual size of the stadium and the lack of more than one video screen hampered game info, making for a mediocre place to actually watch a game. Being at he top of the stadium may be influencing my feelings.
Agree and pretty good chance this is our only season with the QB. Someone is gonna pony up and make him rich. It's too bad.

If you're technically inclined, you can watch pretty much any game you want.
Depends on your definition of what competing is. Not all of the loses were blowouts, a number of them were one score games.
Yeah, my friend does that but I don't have the extra computer to dedicate (as it's likely those sites are trying to infect your PC). But still a good point. For me, with roster turnover and not recognizing the players and the added commercials, I just can't put any more effort into finding gopher games.

I understand what your saying. I also understand that no matter how I formatted the question you would have found something wrong with it. The simple truth is Gopher football has never been able to compete with OSU and never will. So continue on with your arrogance maybe one day you'll impress someone other than yourself.
My son goes there too, and he explained it to me that half of the OSU crowds are loyal alumni whose experiences and memories at the school were shaped in large part by football Saturdays, and the other half are those who never went to the school, but are from Ohio and are proud as hell of their team, and football is the way to connect themselves to the university. The fanaticism there is real, and unlike anything I've seen from college crowds, especially in the Big Ten (I haven't been to Penn State, but I assume the level there is similar), and it's especially pronounced because The Shoe has no creature comforts. It's huge and old and basic; there's not a ring of suites or sections with comfortable chair backs. It's all bleachers, steep steps and crowded concourses and too few bathrooms, yet the faithful keep coming and handing over their money because the team on the field has been excellent forever. It can't be manufactured or marketed, it's just a unique phenomenon we can never recreate.
IMO, if your main reason for watching is in hopes of a playoff appearance and chance of a national championship, you're setting yourself for disappointment.
Sure it is all they know is what they read and see and that part is a joke for about half the populous.
