All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Souhan's description of Howell's interception vs New England made Frank Bruni's "For the Love of Sentences" part of his column in the NYT. It was sent in by Lee Kaplan of WB Township.

“The ball hung in the air like an oblong piñata. Time passed. The Twins traded another 10 players. Beards grew. Finally, Howell’s pass fluttered back to earth, and a few Patriots drew straws to decide who would intercept it.”

Oh boy... I wouldn't think the Vikings would make an effort but it would be one helluva move. Myers is basically the only legit WR the Raiders have, so I don't see them moving him.

The Myers thing probably ain't going to happen, but the best possible scenario would be trade for him, he plays under the current deal in hopes of cashing in next offseason, and the Vikings get a nice Comp pick when he walks next spring! I don't see it happening though. Clearly he wants to get paid.

He's not a #1 though, no matter what he thinks. He's a great slot receiver and that's where he belongs

Zero chance the Vikings aren't making a move for a CB. I hope it's more than just bringing back and aging Gilmore. I would think they need TWO more CBs at this point

We've got plenty of cap space to trade for a high end CB but that seems very unlikely at this point. I valued Blackmon's potential far more than a 6th Round Pick. Bringing back Gilmore seems inevitable...and not enough.

Lots of cap space for 2025, not really in 2026 and beyond (although a lot of deals will get re-worked next spring to get them back in compliance). That would lean more towards a 1-year rental at CB maybe?

Most likely. It's hard to go all in on your roster capwise when you have an unproven starting QB.

True, though I think they think that a few key pieces can lead to the Holy Grail.

I would agree with them 100%! I've taken a few positions (gambling) that show what I think of the Vikings roster for 2025, both in the division and in the NFC playoffs. I think this is a team that can do some serious damage.

I think if JJM is "average", they can win 10 games; I think if he's "pretty darn good", they can win the division and make noise in the playoffs.

The additions of Donovan Jackson, Fries, and Kelly in the IOL, and Allen and Hargrave on the interior of the DL I don't think get enough attention (not to mention Jordan Mason in the running game). Massive upgrades at some of the most critical positions on the field.

Week 1 should tell a heck of a story with JJM on national TV going against your favorite QB in the league, Caleb Williams.

My gut tells me that Flores is going to absolutely embarrass Caleb Williams on national television, but the first game under Ben Johnson, no real tape for the Vikings to look at on Defense, that's the only thing that gives me any pause.

I would bet on two turnovers for Williams without a doubt. I'm not ready to pick them in Week 1 of Circa Survivor like I did last year in almost the same spot; opened on the road, in New York, 1.5-point favorites. I would have bet my house on that. I think the Vikings win though

Last year in Chicago against the vikings, Williams was 32 for 47, 350 yards, and 2 TDS

I don't like our chances in this game. Hope I'm wrong.
