All things Players Coming and Going.

I remember in 21-22 that Michigan had 7 first round picks and they did not win the conference regulation title or the natty. But some people crowned them NCAA champs before the regular season started and gushed over that roster. Look how that turned out...
Be carefull Vanek26, You are talking
about one of Bonin21 favorite teams.

Not to mention the 16-17 BU team that had 5 1st rounders ( including a BIG goalie), and 4 2nd rounders that did not make it to the Frozen Four.

I know, I've never seen a person (Bonin21) who says he is a Gopher fan but gushes about other teams as much as he does. When he does talk about the Gophers, it's ALL negative.

you mean 2 teams that were returning most of their roster already? Shocking.
Lmao these two are adding top 10 and first overall picks and this is the reasoning you come back with on why the Gophers will look like a single A team against them and not their recruiting prowess as the Gopher recruiting fell off a cliff almost two years ago now

Yes I’m more concerned about the team we didn’t beat last year returning almost everyone including a hobey finalist and the best goalie in the country more so than Ryker Lee and Cayden Lindstrom. The freshmen will do some good things. The same as the umpteen random 1st rounders we brought in in the past did. MSU will go where Howard, stramel, and Augustine carry them.

PSU will go where their returning Hobey candidate, stud goalie, depth and mid round older guys with a year of seasoning take them. Jackson Smith will be good and Misa might occasionally do some fun stuff as a mid round pick, but I’ll go with Gadowsky, Fink, Cerrato, Laubach, Dimarsico and Sergeev are the far more worrisome parts of that roster

Saying first rounders are what you should be scared of is like you thought und would be good because of Boisvert but their team was ass. Same as Casey mittelstadt couldn’t carry a mediocre roster. First rounders can only help take a good team over the top. Not to mention we’ve gotten to watch so so many 1st rounders come in and need to acclimate, especially defensemen (see Rinzel, Hensler, Emery for recent ones off top of head).

So yeah, I’m worried about the talent on those rosters that was already there, is experienced, a year older and stronger, with one team that was better than us last year all coming back and one that was even with us, not that they added a couple first round picks. One was #1 or 2 all year and the other made the FF. Would be like having us bringing Cooley back in 23-24 but Moore and Rinzel were the real ones you that you were saying we should worry about

If it is McKenna or this years Misa, that’s a different supposition as those are viewed as generational type players (McKenna moreso than Misa). They haven’t committed yet so why would I be hypothetically looking at a roster projection and saying they’ll out skate us?

Edit: yes I’m aware McKenna visited PSU and msu and that those are only visits scheduled so far. We’ll see. There are going to be 3-4 grossly “talented” teams in terms of draft picks. The last multiple of those also haven’t won it all, MN included
