All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

I'm a cash flow kind of guy. That sounds long term. Since you didn't list assets here, It is really hard to see the whole picture. I could say "Ooo, kind of bigly" but I would be lying.
If you're a cash flow kind of guy then the elimination of the bulk of what was a $55 million revenue stream should be a pretty obvious "cause and effect".

Two things:
1. Those uniforms, white pants or not, are atrocious.
2. The best the Twins can do when promoting their team is using France and Bader? Did they already use up all the contractual media responsibilities of the players that people actually know? This team is sunk.

I'm with ya. Those uni's are awful

My guess is they're between $25-30 million in local TV revenue now. A big drop from $55 but some are claiming it's under $5 million now and that's just not true.

Just effect. Without the balance sheet and the budget, it really only shows that management made a decision. It does not indicate why.

This has to get demoralizing at times even for the diehard baseball guys on here. The White Sox must be smelling blood.
I care less and less each day. I don’t like ownership, the front office or the manager and there are few players I find worth rooting for. You know they were hoping against hope that they'd prove all the naysayers wrong and play winning baseball without aggressively trying to improve the team. It's not working out that way and any good will they had from finally winning a playoff series is gone.

Given what the Padres made last year, I don't think the Twins are anywhere near $25 million.

Unserious organization.
And then he apparently is walking off the field, instead of putting his head down and hustling off. A veteran needs to call him out in front of everyone and tell them this shit stops now. Gladden would’ve thrown him up against a wall

Same problem as the Wolves, Rocco just like Finch wants to be everyone’s buddy, instead of Managing them and being an authority figure.

I not sure you can manage by fear in 2025. We as a society are soft. At a minimum he should apologize to his teammates and probably sit a couple of games.

It’s also on Miranda to I don’t know maybe give a shit too.

With this Collection it’s gonna be a long season cause no one is coming to save the .

That's what I'm saying. The reports that the Padres "made $4 million" last year are also false. They made $4 million off the streaming packages. They were also on regular TV. That still makes a lot more than the streaming. I would guess the Twins will make $20-25 from the TV providers and $3-4 from the streaming. Plus they get all the advertising revenue, but that's probably offset by the production costs.

16-38 in their last 54 games.
Rocco needs to go immediately. This team has far more talent than to play that badly for that long. The 3rd grade mental error reflect on Rocco. They're not inspired by him. They don't fear him. They don't care.

What are you basing $20-25 million on? We have no idea what Spectrum, Xfinity DirecTV, FOX9+ et al are forking over to the Twins. It could be practically peanuts, based on the lack of leverage they have.

Regarding the advertising revenue, while they do have some solid sponsors, a good chunk of the commercials are the Twins themselves & their charity foundations.

I also don't think it's as low as $3-4 million in total. But I also don't think it's as high as $20-25 million either (which as you indicated is already a mighty fine haircut to begin with).

The start up overhead is also a huge mystery. Totally in the clear, I could see $15 million as reasonable. I would be less surprised if it's substantially less as opposed to more.

We have an idea. They were paying $8-10 per customer per month for Bally's. At least 1/3 to 1/2 of that value was for the Twins, so they likely got to reduce that fee by $3-4/month. The Twins would ask for that $$.

Conservatively, they are likely getting at least $2/subscriber/month from the regular TV providers. And conservatively they are probably in a million households in the 5 state area. That's $24 million.

We don't know what the overhead is, but MLB is doing the games now for ~6 teams. I assume there are savings in that. It's reasonable to assume the $$ to produce the games doesn't exceed what they are getting for ads. Whatever Progressive is paying alone is likely a decent chunk of $$.

I did that once in 9th grade. I was stealing 2nd base I was safe well ahead of the throw. Except for watever reason, the catcher happened to have this this mitt where when the pitch hit it, it sounded like the cracking of a bat. Anyway, even though I made it to 2nd easily, the shortstop, who was fielding the throw, caught the throw and then ran to me already standing on 2nd base and attempted to put a tag on me. When he did that, my only assumption was that the hitter had actually hit the ball and lined it directly to the shortstop, who caught it, and then was attempting to double me up. So I turned and started running back to first, where I was tagged out. In the end, it turns out the hitter had not swung at the pitch and the catcher's ridiculously loud mitt crossed me up.
