All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

I'm not sure many people care. This market has been neutered by the Pohlad family.

MLB is in a lot more trouble outside of LA and NY than they are willing to admit.
Good point. I'm beginning to get the same feel about MLB in general. They really need a salary cap of some sort. Only professional sport without one.

The twins can't score.

Watching this twins offense is like watching soccer. There is little scoring.

There is nothing worse for Twins fans than another losing season, with a team that can't put anything on the scoreboard. This is when baseball just sucks.

The Twins don't seem to have much young talent to look forward, too, either.

I'm already tapped out.

The wolves and wild are going to get thumped in round 1, and then it's nothing until football. Just damn!

The Pohlads sincerely need to take whatever offer they can get and run. I've never seen interest in the team this low. It's dead. No one cares. And is the most dead-ass team I've ever seen. The attendance and TV ratings will crater. They're nuts if they think the value of the franchise is going anywhere but down over the next 2-3 years.

The continued presence of Mickey Gasper, Christian Vazquez, Chris Paddock and Rocco Baldelli in the Twins dugout is an insult to all Twins fans. On a completely dead-ass and lifeless team, they still stand out for their ineptitude and and inability to do their job at even the most basic level. If the organization has any pride, they should all be gone by Friday.

The Twins are 15-35 since the start of the collapse last year. Worst record in MLB over that span for a team that isn't the White Sox. Everyone saw this coming from a mile away. They'll hornswaggle people to come out on Sunday to gawk at the Joe Mauer statue, and for some stupid Star Wars night and yet another Prince shirt giveaway, but barring some sort of miraculous turnaround, they're looking at Target Field being a ghost town for the entire summer.

Per the Twins Radio Network, Byron Buxton is not available for this afternoon's contest in Kansas City. Dealing with a personal matter.

Two things:
1. Those uniforms, white pants or not, are atrocious.
2. The best the Twins can do when promoting their team is using France and Bader? Did they already use up all the contractual media responsibilities of the players that people actually know? This team is sunk.

Am going up to the game tomorrow. Sounded like a lot better idea a couple wks ago when I got the tickets. Also, Paddack pitching 😟.
On the positive side, Ryan looks great. Habitual slow starters Ober and Lopez look ahead of schedule. Zebby and his 99 mph heater and pinpoint control is on the way.

Bring your glove if you're sitting in the outfield bleachers. Might save your life.

What a joke of a team. The offense finally comes to life but gets short-circuited by Rocco's brilliant Gasper-Vazquez bottom of the line-up and then the bullpen immediately gives up a 4 spot to blow the lead.

Fire Rocco yesterday.

It’s too bad Jorge Alcala sucks so much. Seems like he’s got the stuff to be good, but after year whatever of waiting I’m pretty sure it’s just not gonna happen.

Didn't the Twins fire a bunch of staff last fall to make their payroll look smaller for potential buyers? I love it when the little guy gets fired just so a number on a napkin looks better for a buyer. They can make it into a Hallmark movie.

Probably just as much to not increase the $425 million debt in addition to the anticipated drastic reduction from the loss of the bulk of $55 million in local/regional TV revenue.

Woke up early on a Saturday morning to watch the Twins on Apple TV+. Was pleasantly surprised to see the Twins up 1-0 in the fourth and after realizing Festa was pitching, settled in. The following occurred:

Detroit gets a runner on 1st and a bleeder past the second baseman makes it to the outfield where Wallner fires to 3rd, where the ball is deflected by Correa and ends up in the Tigers dugout. Tie game.

Bottom of the inning, Twins put together a nice string of HBP, walk, hits to score the 3 runs. If I recall correctly, the inning ends with a weak groundout from Mickey Gasper with runners on base. We’ll come back to him ina minute. 4-1.

Alama enters to start the 6th. Fiasco ensues. Pulled for Justin Topa who cannot extinguish the fire fast enough. 6-4.

I fix breakfast during which Buxton hits a solo shot and Tigers tack on another run. 7-5 going into 9th.

Watch bottom of ninth-between Larnach, Bader, and France the Twins plate a run, bringing Gasper (!) to the plate with 2 on, 2 out. Evidently no one left on the bench to pinch hit. Weak grounder to first, that’s the ballgame.

Three realizations:
1. This is going to be a long season.
2. I really don’t need to be springing out of bed on Saturday mornings here for when the Twins are featured on Apple TV+.
3. When I’m back in June, if I so desire, I think it’ll be pretty easy to fetch tickets. Again, feels like a really long depressing season ahead.

I'm a cash flow kind of guy. That sounds long term. Since you didn't list assets here, It is really hard to see the whole picture. I could say "Ooo, kind of bigly" but I would be lying.

I don't have Apple TV, so didn't see the game. They are on there next Friday too, but I don't care enough about this team to fork over 10 bucks right now. Something has to change. Everyone else saw it this offseason. The Twins either didn't see it or purposely ignored it.
