All Things 2023 Gophers Fall Camp Thread (Tweets, Pics, Video and More)

The University of Minnesota football team will hold two open training camps practices for the public to come and watch the Gophers prepare for the upcoming 2023 season. Minnesota's two open practices will be on Saturday, August 5 (7 p.m. practice at Huntington Bank Stadium) and on Tuesday, August 15 (3:30 p.m. practice at Athletes Village). These two practices are free for the public to attend.

...

The team will once again host its annual diaper drive on Saturday. Gopher fans have donated more than 115,000 diapers in the last six years and fans are encouraged to bring diapers to the practice and drop them off outside the stadium near Tribal Nations Plaza (outside of West Plaza). These diapers will then be donated to the Diaper Bank of Minnesota where they will then be distributed to families in need.

Fans are also encouraged to bring a decorated oar to Saturday's practice. These customized oars will be added to the inside of Huntington Bank Stadium where they adorn the hallway that the Gophers travel from their locker room to the field on game days. These inspirational oars are the final images the Gophers see before taking the field and serve as a way to connect the community and state with Gopher football.

Go Gophers!!
I do not remember AK8 throwing so sidearm with his delivery. Surprised by that.
CK12 much more conventional...more upright or over the top. Gophers vs Wisconsin
37:50 AK8 makes a few passes. Definitely a higher delivery. Dunno...just an observation.

I think what you're seeing is that AK has a bigger arm than Tanner (and most of our previous QBs). I think most of his throws will be how you remember them, but he has enough zip to sling it a little bit more than Tanner. It's not a habit we want to see all the time, but you don't always have time to plant and throw.

Well, increase the numbers Crooms will see now from our other wr thread.

2 mf’in gophers on the Biletnikoff watchlist
Ironically I suppose that means we have zero chance of winning that award since Daniel will probably still end up as the leading receiver (just without any of the accolades). AK8 definitely won’t fail due to lack of options!

At what point does Crab have to fully participate in practice to start against Nebby? Didn't do any catching or real route running Saturday.

Nice to read the reports of Athan hitting Jackson and Brockington for deep TD's and Bride getting a pick against Kramer (nothing against Kramer). We're going to need more explosive plays in the passing game this season and Bride is one of the guys competing for that wide open CB sport opposite Walley (of course not great that Walley was the guy Jackson got behind, but such is the nature of practice where you've got to be a little concerned about one side of the ball or the other).

They do have different throwing motions. IMHO they will both be fine. The problems seem to multiply when some QB coach wants to mess with their form when they are in their 20's. Too late at that point, just let 'em throw it.
