Official 2024 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Rumors

I mean no ill will towards any of the players, it seems like a good football prep program, but it's not really a "school" and for some that's fine.
Ryland did get admitted to the U. That’s more than can be said for 25% of the players going to “college” in the SEC.

18. Minnesota Golden Gophers
ESPN 300 commits: 0 | Previous ranking: unranked

Big Ten rank: 5 of 14
Top offensive commit: WR Jalen Smith (three stars)
Top defensive commit: S Koi Perich (four stars)

The Gophers remain a busy team on the recruiting trail, mining good, underrated talent to develop. They have been active in state, landing the top-rated prospect in Koi Perich, who is an instinctive and physical safety that displays the tools to be a productive performer, if not potential leader. Jalen Smith is another key in-state keep, as he is a receiver with good speed and big-play potential. Riley Sunram is an interesting prospect to track out of North Dakota, as he is an agile lineman who looks poised to develop as a DL but may have even greater upside as an offensive lineman. Either way, he gives them a promising big man to develop in the trenches.

would the U bend the rules to let them in . . . yes. I reckon that 25% of football players here are going to "college" when they come out with degrees in such things as Youth Studies.

Drake Lindsay (QB Fayetteville, Arkansas) and Jalen Smith (WR Mankato), recent commits, were both unrated on 257 when they committed. They have now been rated: Lindsay 0.8650 and Smith 0.8619 Very nice gets. Catching the riding stars …
I wish there were 25 hours in a day.

It's looking like weekend of June 9th will be a big recruiting weekend. Good amount on June 16th as well

June 16 shows Nathan Roy who has us, Michigan St and UCLA as warm. Highly rated. It shows the Badgers offering but low interest despite being from Wisconsin. But then his profile says Nevada so not sure if he just moved to WI recently or if he transferred to play somewhere in NV.

On he 9th we have Madu coming in with 9-10 guys that have already committed. Like our odds of getting him to commit that weekend considering he will be surrounded by guys that are coming here. :)

Good size on him for a CB (assuming he really is 6-1).

June 9 -- they're bringing 11 guys in (at least that are on this list) and 10 of them have already committed here.

Seems more like a "reward guys for committing here with a fun time out on the town" type of weekend.

How would you like to be that one guy out of 11 who hasn't committed here?? No pressure! :ROFLMAO:

Think he was in WI and will be in Nevada for senior year.

Wide variety of schools. I strongly believe we have a shot. Interesting that the schools are all over the board as to the school's background etc.
