Big weekend ahead for our beloved Gopher seniors. We could have 3-4 guys drafted and another handful signed as ND FA's.

Fleck has built a steady cadence of NFL ready players and it's made the Draft so much more fun, and NFL Sunday's so much more fun.

I can't wait to see if JMS gets drafted tonight, he should!

GET 'ER DONE NFL GM'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drafted: JMS, T Time, Mo, Howden
Camp Invite: Rush, Tanner, MSM, Chuck F
Not sure on Ruschmeyer
Either way, best of luck gentlemen! Hope your dreams happen!

Am I crazy, or does the PA announcer at the draft sound like the guy who does Gopher home games?? I think I’m crazy

EDIT: sorry, Vikings home games. I think it is him, that guy seems to work all over

IIRC he was on KFAN last week and mentioned he was working the draft.

ESPN had a Gameday for it and was entertaining. The food was brought out from a local BBQ and Pollack had to unbutton his jacket to get ready.

Arizona Cardinals do not currently have a true Center on their roster, and they are sitting with the second pick in the second round when the draft cranks back up Friday night.

JMS perhaps? Might be a tall order for the Cardinals to take two OL in their first 2 picks in the draft (they drafted OT Paris Johnson Jr at #6) but it could happen. Arizona started 10 different OL combinations last season and gave up 46 sacks. OL is a huge need, no doubt

Cardinals would be smart to take John Michael Schmitz, that way Kyler Murray would be able to sit back and make video game throws, and not get hit. JMS doesn't give up a lot of sacks and he is quick off the snap. Picking JMS early in the second round would be a wise decision. I'm no Arizona fan but have buddy's that are.

Many outlets have JMS between 15-20 best available prospect. SI shows him fifth best available. I don't see him dropping lower than 57 as the Giants look like they are sure to grab him if he's available.

Didn’t help that Iowa had 2 first round players drafted. hurts on our recruiting.
huh? You think Iowa having 2 first round draft picks hurts our recruiting?

Wisconsin didn't have any first rounders....so that helps us right....but Northwestern had one so maybe that counters out the benefit we get from Wisconsin not having any....

It would seem likely that he goes pretty early tonight. Most of the mock drafts seemed to view him as a late 1 early 2 pick.

2023 NFL Draft: B1G enjoys historic showing in first round

Keith Farner
The B1G stood toe to toe with the SEC on Thursday night, and it was a tie with the NFL Draft picks by conference in the first round in Kansas City.
Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State led the way in picks by college team, with 3 players apiece picked in the first round while Iowa and Clemson each also had 2 players picked.
The 9 first-round picks for the B1G tied the conference mark set in 1995.
The breakdown that year was 3 Penn State players (Ki-Jana Carter, Kerry Collins and Kyle Brady), 3 Ohio State players (Joey Galloway, Korey Stringer and Craig Powell) and 3 Michigan players (Tyrone Wheatley, Ty Law and Trezelle Jenkins).
Picks by conference and team:
Big Ten (9)
Ohio State — 3
Iowa — 2
Michigan — 1
Illinois — 1
Maryland — 1
Northwestern — 1

SEC — 9
Big 12 — 6
ACC — 4
Pac-12 — 3
Looking ahead to the rest of the NFL Draft, the early prospects to be selected next include Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr., Minnesota center John Michael Schmitz, Ohio State tackle Dawand Jones or Northwestern defensive tackle Adetomiwa Adebawore.

JMS was one of zero interior offensive lineman selected in the first round. Really amazes me that not a single IOL player was picked.

JMS will be gone by the mid-second round. I would not be surprised if two or three more of his teammates get their names called. But strange things have happened.

NFL.com (Lance Zierlein) predicting JMS to Seattle in the 2nd and T Time to Baltimore in the 3rd. That would be great!

All of a sudden ESPN has the wisconsin bitch center ahead of JMS on their "best available" board. I hope it is just ESPN being stupid.
